Bernat Softee Chunky Yarn, 3.5 Oz, Gauge 6 Super Bulky, Grey Heather

Never tried this brand of yarn before, figured I'd give it a try. WOW!! The quality of the yarn is excellent, not too stiff not too soft. Doesn't fray or split! Easy to use and a great value for the money! When the label says chunky, thats what you get and holds a stitch beautifully! Will definitely be ordering again!!!!

Soft and woolly for an acrylic yarn. VERY easy to work with, holds shape well and probably won't need blocking for a lot of projects. The color is nice (I got the baby pink). The fabric really shows variation-- this is a great yarn for projects that have cables or other patterns, but if the tension is uneven, I think it will really show. I wasn't too happy with the acrylic-y feel, but when I was making a hat for my mom with it, someone else loved the feel so much that they requested a hat with the same yarn (so I've just ordered my third skein). I'm not in love with it, but it gets points for being so attractive to a non-knitter hat enthusiast.

I bought this yarn for my first full project blanket. I recommend looking on Joanns or a bulk craft store if you are looking to buy for a bigger project. This is great for small projects because it is the perfect size. However, if you are using it for a larger project, the thickness might be a problem and make the project bulky. This yarn is very soft and easy to move but after a while it begins to feel a bit rough. I would use fabric softener to help.

Works up beautifully. Feels like quality yarn which is what one needs on making gifts.

It lives up to its name. It's thicker than normal yarn and is very soft!

I have purchased this yarn in blue, black, red, green and yellow. I am making chunky winter hats. It’s perfect for my project.
