Speedbox 3.0 for Bosch Active Engine, Performance/CX, Compatible with 2020 Engine

Ive used this in my Trek Powerfly 5 now with the Bosch Performance CX Gen 4 for almost 2 years now. Very easy to install and use. But there is something you need to remember. VERY IMPORTANT! After every use DO NOT switch the display off. There will be a countdown on the display. You MUST let this countdown before switching it off otherwise you run the risk of error codes. Ive seen a few reviews of people reorting these error codes and im guessing they are shutting it off too soon. This countdown erases the data from the memory so the controller cant detect it. The easiest way ive found to do this, is after every ride, park your bike up and forget about it. I never manualy turn mine off and never (touch wood) had an issue. It will automatically shut itself off after a period of time. The same way your TV does lol. I hope this helps. And maybe helps people who have had problems.

Dead simple to fit. Dead simple to use works perfect. I personally dont think it's expensive for a upgrade. I do a lot of trail riding and it's perfect for that. Yes it uses more battery power but you travel more distance and you can turn it off and on whenever you like. And let's face it your bosch motor is designed to go.a lot faster. it has been restricted.

Brilliant. 10 mins to fit. 10 mins to work out how to use it. Unlocked the full potential.

Only covered approx 150 miles since fitting (which took only 5 minutes) and so far so good, not experienced any fault codes, allows motor to assist as fast as you can pedal, speed is dependant on gearing but 30-35mph is achievable, 20-25mph is more realistic as your legs are not going ten to the dozen...Further to my original review, today the Speedbox 3.0 failed 😞I have only covered just over 300 miles with it fitted, it's only been switched on for a small percentage of that time, maybe 20 miles...I was riding down a country lane at approx 16-18mph when the motor cut out and the display was showing random speeds. I switched it off and back on again, in walk mode it now shows 1.5 and 4.6 instead of 1.5 and 6.1. I've now removed it and returned for refund as I've now lost confidence.

Unit kept turning on and off and did not work as it should. I returned it and got a refund. They just haven’t got them working well with the Bosch motors.

Fitted one of these to my Trek Rail 5 with its 2020 Bosch CX motor first time out it packed up and displayed"error 504" on the display .The motor then puts its self into limp mode , it is now basically knackered untill i can take it to a Bosch specialist to reset it at my own cost because the minute you fit this the motor firmware knows straight away and voids any warranty. This is a COMMON problem but is conveniently left off of any info, just google Bosch error 504 and see how many complaints there are .
