EXCELLENT!
I see a lot of people like to bash on King stones. This stone is excellent, it feels, cuts and is just an overall pleasure to use. I also have a Shapton pro in 8k and this is every bit as good as the Shapton if not better. This stone is just like the S-1 6k stone from King but smoother, both are great stones. The price seems a bit high but you do get more stone then the Shapton 8k so I guess its alright. The American market is being milked for everything we've got because they know we are crazy and will buy this stuff compared to where these stones originate.

A great addition to my sharpening kit!
This was the last stone that I added to my chisel and plane blade sharpening collection. I sharpen my own tools and feel that in the long run it's better to invest in whetstones and sharpen my tools myself instead of sending them out and waiting for someone else to sharpen them. I also like the King stones, especially this stone. Because of the higher/finer grit, it doesn't wear quickly meaning that you don't need to worry about flattening the stone as often as a 3000 or lower grit stone. That said, I think it's unfair to expect a whetstone to not wear down with time and use. My opinion is that, if you sharpen more often, you will use your 6000 and 8000 grit stones more often and the lower grits less. You'll sharpen more often, but spend less time on each tool. If you was to get the "mirror" finish on your tools, this is the stone you need. A 6000 grit is good, but adding this stone was the icing on the cake!

Excellent finish stone
Excellent finish stone. Adds just a bit more polish to my knives after the King 6k. It is thick, and sturdy. This will not really remove much metal, so I wouldn't expect to do much sharpening, but it does an excellent job of polishing the edge for cleaner cutting.

Excellent polishing and lapping stone
I used this stone for lapping and final polishing of my plane blades. It came with a Nagura stone which is invaluable in starting the slurry as this stone is pretty hard. Final edges sharper than a razor and polished like a mirror. Good stuff !

Go for it
Definitely worth the upgrade. Stone hardness is high and it doesn’t wear quickly; overall I’m very satisfied, and have never gotten a sharper edge.
