Great for everything but the camera.
The good:This product does exactly what's promised. It keeps your phone nice and dry while retaining complete usability for all the buttons and the touchscreen. It also doesn't seem to muffle the sound much. It kept my phone nice and dry on my recent visit to the rain forests and beaches of Costa Rica. The case and laureate seemed more than sturdy enough. I felt comfortable hanging the case around my neck while ziplining in places where dropping the phone would mean never finding it again. The laureate is also easy to remove. The best feature is how easy it is to open and close it securely. All the other similar products I've tried, specifically the Trendy Digital Kindle and Ipad cases, are essentially fancy ziplock bags which are a pain to open and close and once closed you are never completely sure you've done it correctly. With the Aquapac closing and opening it is easy thanks to the two levers and I felt comfortable that it was fully closed every time. The bad:The back of the case is opaque except for a square in the center of it whereas the front is completely clear. The issue with this is that it blocks the camera. To use the camera you have to slide the phone around inside the case to ensure the lens is in the clear square. I'm not sure why Aquapac chose to do this as it must have been extra effort and doesn't seem to add any functionality. I was excited at the idea of taking videos with my iPhone 4 by hanging it around my neck in the case while ziplining, playing in the waves, etc, but because of the opaque back this never worked. The laureate is a thick bright yellow/green ugly string which while durable also makes you look like a complete dork if you hang it around your neck. Of course, hanging your phone around your neck in any situation is pretty dorky so this isn't necessarily a show stopper. Plus it is, as mentioned above, easy to remove and attach the laureate. If this is used somewhere hot and humid the humidity in the air trapped in the case when you close it will eventually fog up the plastic. It never did this to the point of making it unusable but it did cause the phone to get wet all on it's own but only slightly. As it shows in the picture it does have a somewhat large hard plastic seal at the top. This adds bulk and makes it less comfortable in your pocket, it also made it not fit in some of the cell phone pockets in my bags. All similar products seem to have this issue though. In summary:All in all this is a great product. Based on my experience with it and other similar items I would heartily recommend this for use in wet situations. If it wasn't for the camera issue I would have given it five stars.Caveat - I never submerged it entirely for any length of time so I don't know how truly waterproof it is when submerged for more than a few seconds.

Ok but not for everyday use
I was looking for a way to waterproof my cell phone, and keep the waterproof material on 24/7 for everyday use.My old cell phone, I accidentally kept in my pants pocket and washed my pants.I got a new cell phone and two weeks later, it fell off the dash of my car and into a cup of soda.I couldn't find a waterproof cell phone that had a good camera, mp3 player, or a semi decent web browser. I thought instead I would buy this case and an inexpensive Android. It works for the most part, I can make and receive calls through the waterproof bag. It is difficult dialing, and dealing with touch screens though the bag. The bag can fold over with the phone inside it, and fit in my pocket fine. It probably works great near water, for the pool, on the beach, or in a boat. I wouldn't say it is all that great for everyday use what I intended it for, it is just too big and bulky. It has to be big and bulky to accommodate all sizes of phones and different uses. I guess you won't lose the phone if you carry it around your neck all day. Again this product would work great around water. When I first took the product out of the package, my thoughts were that it was an over priced ziplock bag, but the material seems durable, and sturdy. It won't eaisly rip. This product will also work good with checkbooks, credit cards, and electronic car keys.I tried it on my cell phone, and tried it using my wife's Nokia N8 (which is a bulky phone). I had to take the leather case off the N8 in order to fit, but it did fit snug. The touch screen worked so and so through the bag, I would probably go nuts if I had to text someone though the bag, and since it was a snug fit.. It would be too much of a hassle to pull it out unless you really need to use it. I believe the Nokia N8 is similar to an Iphone, but perhaps a little more in thickness.Overall, I am somewhat satisfied, the product does what I need it to do. I just wish they would come up with some sort of water proof covering, that is less bulky, phone, and brand specific for everyday use. Never know when someone spills water on your desk or you drop your cell phone in a puddle trying to unlock your car. I would rather see something for everyday use.

Ideal for the iPhone SE
I can see that this would be a squeeze for larger phones but it's plenty large enough for my SE. As others have said the case tends to stick to the screen so getting your phone back out can be a challenge but I've thoroughly tested the waterproof capabilities by falling off a sailing Dinghy into Windermere while this was in my pocket and the phone was perfectly OK. It doesn't have a noticeably detrimental effect on photo quality, I only had a couple of pictures where the case affected the image quality although obviously flash photography doesn't work as the case reflects the flash back into the lens. The seal is simpler than I was expecting, there is a V shaped groove on the back plastic piece and a matching protrusion on the front which pinches the flexible bag when the two lock buttons are turned, they only rotate by a quarter-turn but seem secure enough in their 'Locked' position, I can see that it might be possible to unlock the case accidentally but I think it's unlikely.I left my Spigen case on the Phone and there was room to spare within the Aquapac, the literature says that the case should float with the Phone in but I haven't tested this. There wasn't any appreciable impact on the operation of the touch screen but obviously touch-id won't operate so you need to be able to enter your PIN code to unlock your phone if you need to do anything other than take photos, I haven't tried to make or receive calls so I can't comment on what effect the case has on call quality. The fluorescent cord has a sliding button to adjust the size of the loop which is secured with a sprung push-button and a plastic clip at the far end. From experience these clips can pop open leaving loose ends so a decent stop-knot is a better option, I kept the cord tied to a belt-loop whilst using the case which was OK in most circumstances but with a secure knot at the open end of the cord you could use the sliding button to secure it around your wrist if this wasn't going to result in your phone being in the way.

Functional but fiddly closure
I bought it for iPhone 12 Mini - perfect fit, apart from the weird asymmetric end. (for something with a stub aerial?)It passed the recommended watertightness test (a few hours immersion with some tissue inside as an indicator). It didn't let water in whilst submerged. But, the clamping mechanism has many grooves and joints that collect water, so the case has to be dried/allowed to dry before opening, to avoid transfer to the device as it is being removed. The packaging advises doing a test before each use - who has the time? - but if you do any testing, leave time for complete drying before use, so moisture isn't transferred in and sealed inside with your device.
