another artistic attempt at engineering.
to the experienced, the flaw (2 of the same one) is obvious. yet it's perfect otherwise. the length is efficient. rubberized grips seem permanent. hinge is fat. that learning curve is a real pinch. arrr!

people use mine and want one of their own
This is a GREAT nutcracker. We use it to crack paper shell pecans. The top circle has larger teeth that can easily crack a tougher shell. The smaller circle underneath has grippers which help hold the nut in place; it is great for applying more controlled pressure for nuts you've started up top or those that don't require as much pressure in the first place. My father-in-law came to visit last year and liked it so much he asked me to send one to his house. My dad came this morning, and he requested one as well. :) Plus, the price can't be beat! The rubber handles slip down a little from time to time, but it's not a big deal. I am able to continuously use this device for quite a long time before I have any fatigue in my hand at all.

It is definitely better suited for cracking nuts
I bought this cracker primarily for lobster/shellfish. It is definitely better suited for cracking nuts. The cracker is spring-hinged, so it is in the open position unless you physically close the handles. I find this to be a bit frustrating - my hands are on the larger side and I still have trouble picking the cracker up with one hand and getting a good enough grip to be able to crack a shell effectively. Additionally, for larger lobster claws the cracker has trouble fitting around the claws the "long" way. What this means is you'll have to crack against the broad side of the claw, most likely crushing it and getting shell bits in your lobster meat.I've used this cracker to crack walnuts and it has been plenty effective, but it is a bit of a hassle if shellfish is what you would be primarily looking to use this for.

Best champagne Cork puller
I bought it to pull champagne corks, not for cracking crab legs. Worked so well I bought extras for Christmas gifts.

Very strong lobster cracker
No need to say about this item. Just buy it to crack tons of Lobsters easily. It looks it can break any kinds of lobsters. I did it for adult palm size lobster claw.

Also works great for opening 2-Liter soda bottles.
I was browsing through many different Nut Crackers and Lobster Crackers because I felt their metal design would be a much better alternative for opening 2-Liter bottles, so I purchased the Good Cook model and I am very happy with the results. It works great at opening 2-Liter bottles and will last forever. It's made of cast aluminum and the smaller chamber happens to fit perfectly around 2-Liter bottle soda caps. The head is also spring loaded, so you don't have to pull it apart.

Works very nicely
This is a very nice nutcracker that works very well for all kinds of nuts. One thing that I really like about it is that most of the time it doesn't crush the nuts, like most nutcrackers do. One of the rubber handles keeps sliding off, so it gets a bit annoying. Maybe its just this one.

Muy batalloso
No me gustó porque se necesita de mucha fuerza para romper las nueces de macadamia, mi madre u otras personas en mi familia no pueden romper las nueces con eso.
