A thoughtful gift that truly made her hair shine — vibrant color and great moisture
I gifted the dpHUE Gloss+ in Copper to my girlfriend after she mentioned wanting brighter, healthier-looking hair without high maintenance, and it has been a big hit. The first time she used it, I instantly noticed how much more vibrant and glossy her color looked — it really brought out warmth and shine in her copper tones. ✔ What we loved • Beautiful, natural shine: The gloss added a luminous finish that made her hair look healthier and more vibrant without looking overly processed. • Hydrating without heaviness: Her hair felt soft and moisturized afterward, not weighed down or greasy — even after 48+ hours. • Easy to apply at home: She didn’t need any special tools or salon visit — the application was simple and the instructions were clear, which made it ideal for a gift. • Long-lasting subtle enhancement: The color boost and shine lasted several washes, giving her hair extra life between salon appointments. ❤️ Why it was a great gift She mentioned how much she appreciated the extra dimension it gave to her natural tones, and even weeks later she still gets compliments on how healthy and glossy her hair looks. It’s one of those products that feels a bit luxurious but is easy enough to use regularly — perfect for someone who likes beautiful results without complicated routines. ⭐ Final Verdict The dpHUE Gloss+ in Copper was a wonderful, thoughtful gift that delivered real results: richer color, brilliant shine, and softer hair. If you’re looking for something that boosts natural tone and adds gloss with minimal effort, this is a great choice. ✔ Highly recommended for gifting or everyday hair enhancement — especially for colored or dull hair seeking a healthy glow.

Superceded my expectations
I was not expecting a whole lot but this product superceeded my expectations. The only thing I dislike is having to wash and wet my hair previously because it's winter and I was cold but it was super easy to apply. I found it easier to apply than regular hair dye and much less toxic. I used a bowl and an application brush from Sally beauty supply and there was no mess. It was a very creamy conditioner and I could see how people say one bottle will last for a while because I probably only used about a quarter and my hair is hip length. So, because of it's creaminess there was no mess. I left it on for 30 minutes. When I went to rinse I didn't lose hardly any color, just a little bit everybody's hair is different. Another thing too, I co-wash so I didn't use shampoo I used my conditioner. So, I rinsed and I was pleasantly surprised. The color took much stronger than my usual hair dye and it was much gentler on my hair. My hair felt very conditioned. My grays were completely covered which I was unsure about but they were covered completely and came out a beautiful light copper that you can see in my pictures. You can see my bangs too there are a lot of grays at the roots that were completely covered. So, I am definitely leaning towards this method going forward since it feels so good and works well. This works for me because I only wash my hair once a week and it's only a co-wash. My climate is at elevation and cold alpine so conditioning is extremely important here. I usually dye my hair (roots) every month so by then it will only be 4 co-wash cycles. So, if you co- wash this could be great for you. I also love that they have so many different colors for people to chose them, there is a color for everybody. So, I think this is a winner for me. Knowing how much I condition my hair and how gentle co-washing is I don't expect to lose too much color. I'm also looking forward to more beautiful highlights the more grays I get. I will update this review after a month but so far I really like this product.

It really works, and my hair is resistant!
I wanted to share my experience for anyone who was as undecided as I was when I was searching for color glosses and color conditioners. I did a lot of looking at products and reviews and ended up choosing to to try: this product and Moroccanoil color conditioner. This was the winner hands down. Even though it says it does not cover gray, I was delighted to find that ti does actually sort of partly stain my very stubborn wiry gray so that it looks a little bit more like highlights. It darkened my very faded light brown hair (that had a little too much red) in a nice rich way. Just a deepening and enriching. But the best part that I really want to get across is how shiny and glossy this product makes your hair. Almost nothing that promises shine and gloss actually works on my hair. I have very fine, very dry, NOT shiny hair—alas. It always looks a bit fuzzy and the only thing that really usually gives it shine is LOTS of oil. I was amazed to find that this product actually did give my hair a little bit of sheen and a really nice soft shiny glossy feeling. I actually kept running my fingers through my hair. And it lasted a really long time (I don’t shampoo every day because my hair is so dry, and after a week it still had that slightly thicker, glossy feeling! I am a believer in this product. And I am so picky about hair products. I don’t love the smell, but I’m quite fragrance sensitive and it didn’t knock me over or make me feel sick so that was a plus. The smell faded after a day or so. Another bonus as it does not stain your hands even though it warns you that it might. (I used the medium brown). The Moroccan oil conditioner was a darker brown and it did stain my hands, it did darken my hair but it did not even touch the gray. Moreover, I was disappointed that it did not give my hair that shiny glossy smooth feeling at all. I’m glad I just bought a sample pack of that one. DPhue is not cheap but for the size of the bottle and how much I get out of it when you consider that one salon color or gloss is upwards of $80 or more, plus travel time, this is going to be my go-to product between colorings. And I think it will extend my time between coloring. I have a lot of gray at the part right now but I don’t even feel in a rush to get color because I have this product. Big thumbs up on this one!

LOVE this product!! Some tips for best results…
I was very hesitant to buy this product due to the mixed reviews, but I decided to go for it and I’m so glad I did! First two pics are before and second are after. Shown in indirect and direct sunlight. My hair is naturally dark blonde and I used the strawberry gloss. I have the tiniest hit of red, but it can only be seen in direct sunlight. My goal was to intensify that hint of red and become a true strawberry blonde, and I was also open to being a true redhead. I almost went for the copper color, and I know that many of the bad reviews are with that color. If you have any shade of blonde or maybe even light brown hair and want somewhat subtle results, I’d recommend going with strawberry over copper. There are a few factors that I think contribute to a beautiful result with this product. 1. Virgin hair - my hypothesis for why some people experience patchy results is differing porosities of hair texture on the same head. I bleached my hair for many years, and I don’t think this product is ideal for that texture. I stopped about 4 years ago and have now fully grown out and cut off any color-treated hair. 2. Ensuring an exfoliated scalp and fully clean hair - it seems like some folks were left with vivid roots and a dyed scalp. At least every other time I wash my hair, I use a scalp scrub before shampooing. I then use a clarifying shampoo focusing on the scalp and roots, rinse it out, and then a gentle, sulfate-free shampoo on both the roots and lengths of my hair. I only use the clarifying shampoo when I am about to apply a hair treatment. The other times I shampoo twice with the same gentle shampoo. Before I started using a scalp scrub, I didn’t think I had much product/oil build-up, but it has been an absolute game changer in my routine. But that’s a review for another day lol. 3. Be intentional and thorough with application - I personally wouldn’t recommend putting this product into your hair while you’re still in the shower like you would with conditioner like some other reviewers have said. I do scalp scrub, double shampoo, and then the rest of my shower routine. After I get out and dry off, I squeeze excess water out of my hair by scrunching with a cotton turban, but a t-shirt would be just as good. I then section my hair into quadrants and make sure I thoroughly saturate each section and comb through it with a wide-toothed comb before moving on to the next section. I use gloves for this step. Once I’m done, I comb it all out again to ensure every strand is coated evenly. Then I put my hair up in a big claw clip. 4. Saturation time - the first time I used this product, I only left it in for about 10 minutes, maybe less, as I was terrified I would experience overly pigmented, patchy results. I am relieved that was not the case, but leaving the product in for that short of a time gave me very, very subtle results. The next few times I have extended the leave-in time to 15-30 minutes and have liked the result more the longer I leave it in before rinsing. 5. Rinsing - after the product has had time to sit, I get back in the shower and thoroughly rinse. I have not noticed the color coming out at all in the water like some have said. I have only used the strawberry gloss, so that may be a factor, but I also think rinsing with cool/cold water helps. I don’t add conditioner after rinsing out the gloss, but I do put in the leave-in conditioner I always use after a wash and then style as usual. I know this was very long-winded, but I hope someone finds it helpful, whether you are considering buying this product or already bought it and were disappointed with your results. I have applied this 3, maybe 4, times now and have only used about a third of the bottle. For context, my hair goes past my shoulders and is slightly thicker than average. I use about 3 pumps per section of hair. I wash my hair every 5 days, so I get about a month of noticeable color per application. I will definitely keep using this product for the foreseeable future. Wishing you wonderful results!

Here’s how I use it
I would definitely apply out of shower . Shampoo first . Partially dry hair ( apply to wetter hair for a more subtle deposit ) Wear gloves ! I apply in sections, my sections can be thin or chunky depends on what my goal is . I think the color is beautiful! It’s not too copper or too red for me , a lovely balance of both . I have tried many other brands , higher end brands even , this one for me so far I like the best . Hair is evenly saturated ( as long as you apply it evenly ) the hair is shiny , soft . Has decent lasting power too. I use a sulfate free , safe for color treated hair (salon quality) hair products in conjunction ( not grocery store ) really do appear to work best . There may be some decently affordable options at Marshall’s , TJmaxx and sometimes you can find excellent deals at Ulta . If you’re going to invest in your hair , my experience is to get the best results to do those things .

I use it to tone out orange hue that sometimes happens with dye jobs
Let me start by saying that this will not cover your gray hair. No semi permanent dye that only sits on your hair for a few minutes can do that. I have tried them all. But it does tone my hair beautifully and leaves it looking shiny and moisturized. I have been really impressed with all of the DP hue products I have tried for toning. My brown hair can sometimes turn orangey. I color my hair with a mixture of henna, indigo, and Amla to cover the grays, but yellow and orange tones come in strong sometimes. It’s hard to keep your hair toned exactly right all the time when coloring or going in the sun. This is a great quick fix that works better than blue tone shampoos. I would say you get exactly what it says: cool medium brown. If you’ve got an ash brown color, this is one of the only brown toning conditioners I have ever found that actually adds cool tones. So many brands I have tried add too many warm tones. I’m only giving it four instead of five because it doesn’t condition my hair quite enough on its own. I have lots of fine wavy hair and I have to condition afterward with a thicker conditioner to get my hair properly moisturized.

Defective pump
The product came with a defective pump very sad 😢 and messy! Other than that I like the color that it produces and the shine it gives my hair. Although I feel like after just one wash I loose a SIGNIFICANT amount of color and tone for a product that is supposed to last up to 8 washes. I’m a natural chocolatey brunette but I dye my hair red and use this in between services to save money. I’m still not sure how I feel about this product and the efficacy. I heard raving reviews about it and now I’m somewhat disappointed but it’s also a cheaper and less damaging option than dyeing my hair again.

Good for bringing back warmth to my hair color
I have naturally dark blonde hair with quite a bit of silver/white hair coming in, especially at the temples. The gray comes through like platinum highlights so I can typically go a long while between salon appointments, where I brighten up some bits and add warm low lights. As the lowlights fade, my hair tone can look ashy which doesn’t suit my coloring - it washes me out. To prolong time between salon visits, my stylist recommended using this product. It has worked out really well, adding warmth back in and color to the temples (the white hair makes it look like I have a receding hairline there). I use both Medium Blonde and Light Brown colors. I do a 7 (blonde) to 3 (brown) ratio. I mix it up together and apply to DRY hair before my shower. I concentrate on the roots and temples and then move the product all the way down to the ends so it’s all fully saturated. I clip it up and wait about 10 minutes. Then I wash it out, shampoo and condition as normal. It brings warmth back to my hair color and makes the hair around my temples more visible. My hair is shoulder length and fairly fine so I don’t use a lot: probably 21 pumps of Medium Blonde and 9 pumps of light brown. I do this about every 10 to 14 days, paying attention to consistent coverage and where I want to bring more color out. I used to use only the Medium Blonde and did it in the shower as the instructions said but it never seemed to deposit color like I wanted. This method works out much better for me. These aren’t drastic results - just enough to keep me from looking washed out, especially in the winter.
