I used it primarily for example problems rather than the text itself, but for the instances that I needed clarification on lecture material, I found the text to be quite helpful. The book successfully covers all three modes of HT: conduction, convection, and radiation. There was more material than an undergraduate course can get through in a semester, so I feel as though the book covers plenty of ground as an introductory level textbook. Review: Great book - Used this book for a heat transfer course and a heat transfer lab class, so I've become pretty familiar with it. I think it's a great book. Heat transfer is a large and encompassing topic and I think this book does a great of presenting it in as straight forward and organized fashion as possible. Some of the equations can get pretty ridiculous but the book does a great job of telling you what each and every term means. I learned everything from conduction, convection, and radiation to heat exchager design with this book and I have no major complaints about it. I would definitely recommend it.

but it's far from insurmountable like other texts
I wouldn't let the other negative reviews of this book scare you away- this is the standard reference text for heat transfer courses across the US at the upper division undergraduate and early graduate levels of mechanical engineering. It's even referenced on the PE exam in NCEES solutions manuals for practice tests. This book may seem a bit complex at first if you've never had an introduction on heat transfer, but it's far from insurmountable like other texts. If you're looking for something to bridge the gap between very complex graduate texts on convection and heat transfer with phase change phenomena, this book covers the entry level concepts of those subjects. Personally, I wished it covered a bit more to help bridge that gap up to the existing advanced graduate level texts (e.g. Ghiaassian). Similarly, I thought the fluid mechanics discussions within the convection sections to be a little inaccessible if you've never had a fluids course before. For advanced problems, you may need to supplement this with a dedicated fluid mechanics text. Long story short: The standard-bearer when it comes to heat transfer, but mass transfer leaves a little to be desired. Don't expect much in the way of extensions to numerical analysis, either- this is core theory. Being printed in more than two colors wouldn't hurt, either :)

A great book!
So, I started reading this book on a Tuesday. I didn't finish it until a Saturday like 5 months later. The material is a bit dry but if you want to know the thermal conductivity or specific heat of a banana, maybe cake batter or chickens, this is the book for you. After reading this book you will know precisely how long to cook your banana split for, or maybe how long to freeze your chicken. Definitely a life changing experience to read this book.

Nine Days Late, Pricey & Confusing, but it Works
First of all, my shipping experience was awful. I paid extra for two-day shipping, but it arrived in nine days. It was later discovered my package was list in transit, but my grades fell because I didn't have the book when I needed it. Second, I believe this book is WAY too expensive for what you're getting. There's no way this hardback should be more than $100 new. Third, as learning material, it's not user-friendly. The text is so needlessly wordy that it's distracting. Variables & equations are not clearly labeled. It seems like the authors wrote this book in a way that only THEY can understand, no one else. In summary, professors should require a different book (i.e. one that is cheaper & easier to learn from), and whomever shipped this needs to be fired.

Good loose leaf book. Don't drop it before binding it.
Book is brand new, so it's in perfect shape. Shipping took a little longer than expected, but it made it in time for what I needed. I didn't completely read the description, so I failed to realize that it is unbound. It's now in a binder with my notebook for the related class. WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T OPEN IT THEN DROP ALL THE PAGES. It's around 1000 pages and if they get out of order, good luck finding anything.

Great Textbook
This is a very effective textbook. I think this is one of the most used textbooks in heat transfer courses, and there is a reason for that. Everything you need to know, both conceptually and mathematically, is laid out very cleanly and in logical order. It is easy to follow for someone with little to no background.

Customer Service:Grafhh
The seller worked with me to get a replacement when the original order was lost by the carrier or my apartment complex. 5 stars for the customer service. The book is as described.

Great book for university.

Fantastic textbook. One of the most succinct and useful textbooks I have ever used in my undergrad. Great examples and descriptions of processes and concepts. The many tables throughout the textbook are invaluable to engineering heat transfer design and application. My only criticism is a lack of a List of Tables.

Best price anywhere for this book. Bought this book to understand concepts and from the few readings I have done its a great book. Also arrived in mint condition

The book was fine, but the sold me an ‘international’ copy with a different cover. They should have told me that was what I was getting.
