This was the fix needed for the water inlet
I was able to get the part number off of the item and look it up to replace it. Once replaced there was no longer a water inlet problem. We now have ice and water and it was pretty easy to insall.

Ice maker water intake valve
This part was almost perfect. It needed a slight modification which was accomplished with a tiny twist. The ice maker intake valve is now working and there's no leak

Perfect fit
This product stopped my leak on my fridge and even better, I fixed it myself. Very pleased. One note is putting the water line in the fitting make sure you push it in all the way and then try to pull out to snug. I didn’t put it in all the way at first and had a leak. Then pushed it in and it works!

Works and Fits
Our Whirlpool refrigerator had a small leak at the water valve intake connection. I ordered this part and it was a perfect fit. Our leak has stopped, so it took away our issue and saved us a ton of money. The only reason that I did not give this a full 5 stars is because the water pressure is much slower than our original part from the manufacturer. Now when we press button to release water it takes a long time to fill up the cup. That is the only beef we have with this replacement water intake valve. I wish I knew how to increase the speed on water release.

Perfect compatability!
The Maytag repair company wanted $115 for a service trip fee. Plus $85/hour for labor. Plus the markup on the part, $65. I just pulled the fridge out, removed the cardboard rear cover, turned off the water like the diagram and instructions said taped to the back of the fridge. Two screws held the pump on, unplugged the little power cord, like the diagram said, disconnected the water line with a wrench, disconnected the lower water line by simply pushing up on the blue plunger to release the Schrader valve teeth, stuck the line onto the new pump, reversed the steps, done. 7 minutes total, and I'm no expert. Had my daughter test the water by filling up a sippy cup while I watched for any drips. Zero. And the new pump was quiter! I do suspect using off brand filters create back flow into the pump once 6 months rolls around. So only OEM from now on for me. IMO
