Quality worth the price, a truly great set.
I have always wanted to try these but price kept me away.I wish I had got them sooner. They are truly amazing. They are strong ,vibrant and mix beautifully. They rewet easily and are a joy to work with. They are loaded with pigment and a very little go a long way.

Stunning colors, a little goes a long way. My only regret? Not getting these sooner!
Wow! I started watercolor with cheaper supplies, both paper and paint. When these arrived, I had to give them a try. The colors are vibrant, rich, but still transparent. Absolutely stunning! Then I used them as I have my others, and the result was a disaster because I used far more paint than needed. This is a "me" problem, not the paint. I will have to play around with these to get a feel for them. I'm so glad I treated myself to these. The color just glides across the page, a little goes a long way, and they mix well, though admittedly I haven't spent more than an hour with them. These are fantastic paints, and though the tubes are tiny, I don't anticipate running out any time soon.

Best quality watercolor
I don't know any artist that doesn't like Daniel Smith watercolor. The price might seem high if you are new to watercolor, but it is well worth the price and because of the high pigmentation it lasts a long time. It only takes a small amount. I use the tube paints after I squeeze them into a palette. I let them dry a couple of days before use. These paints do not require you to spray with water. As soon as you touch the paint pan with the wet brush you are ready to go. I paint a lot. The 15 ml tubes will last a long time. The 5 ml tubes last a long time and perfect for trying out a color. If you are using any of the phthalo colors, you will use less since these are very pigmented and you just need a touch when mixing with another color. Something like an Ultramarine blue and burnt sienna, these colors you would get a lot of use from and a 15 ml tube would be good. If you are just starting to use water color this set is so good because you won't get overwhelmed and you will learn color mixing skills. I would add to this set 2 Earth colors like burnt sienna and raw umber.

Fantastic value to get you going
Best set to start with without breaking the bank. The colors are beautiful and easy to work with. A little goes a loooong way. Well worth the price. Now that I know how good they are, I plan to get the 15 ml tubes for better deal per oz.

Truly Extraordinary Watercolors
Some of the very finest watercolor paints I have ever bought have been made by Daniel Smith Co. The color, tone, hue, delicateness are all fators that Daniel Smith paints incorporate in their product. It seems that finally, people have started to reach for and pay for the highest quality paints. I have gone completely to high end paints. It is not that I am such a great artist, but in te event that something I do create becomes xcellent or highly appreciated, I don't want to take the chance that I could recreate it with goosd paints later. So, since I am not nearly as good an artist as I wish I was and since. am 60 years old now, I only have so mmuch time in my life to paint my own "Mona Lisa" or "Stary Night.". I suspect that my fine motor skills will not take me there. Nonetheless, you never know what your ability is until you give it a try. Never assum that you cannot do it, If you read some of th books I hav recommended by Billy Showell you will see a true master. Ms. Showell is truly an extraordinary painter and she has a number of excellent books, which are still in print, that I would recommend to any person interested in painting living things, but especially flowers, trrees, gladees, natue. Her work is truly an inspiration to all of us amateur artists. After all, one never knows how good oe can be unless they give it a try. I hav e met people who were in the process of throwing thing in the garbage that I would have paid hundreds or thousands or hundreds of thousands of dollars if I was buying it at an auction. We all ave the right to dream. And we all have the riight to create. I would encourage you to try and do so. Maybe you will find you have a hidden talent that you were too timid to try out. Well, you never have to show your work to anyone if you on't want to show it. But my guess is, you will want to show it, especialy as you get better and better. Jump in with both fet and see how good you really are. Best of luck and remember to enjoy yourself.

Fantastic primary set
I'd like to start by saying that I'm a hobbyist who loves to try new stuff all the time. I'm a amateur in every sense of the word. But I am curious and I enjoying learning new things and dabbling in new hobbies. And on and off for the last year or so it has been watercolors. I started off using student grade paints (koi). Those were pretty good but the more I learned about watercolors, the more I wanted to experiment with high quality paints and learn to mix colors. I have since collected many paints of both student and artist quality. There is definitely a difference among the two. In my humble opinion, this is a great set to start with. There is a warm and cool version of the three primary colors, all with single pigments. If you want to dive into coloring harmony and color mixing, start here. In fact, when interested friends ask me about starting to paint with water color, I like to recommend this set. It is economical and logical. At the moment I am putting aside all my other palettes of watercolors and focusing on these 6 colors. I have filled a ceramic palettes with 9 wells. And I periodically squirt more color in as needed. And I can easily wipe away the mixing areas. No concerns about staining. I've used these on traditional watercolor paper, Bristol paper and even some pages in s coloring book. The vibrancy of these paints is wonderful in any of these surfaces. Anyway, I am attaching some photos.
