these repeaters are great. i had a new client that a previous tech installed horribly long data runs of up to 600'. needless to say the network was slow, dropping out, and for CCTV is bad to have such slow speeds. im sure with these long runs the effective throughput had to be like 5mb. i put these inline and the network came up. One of these units recently failed and I am going to contact the company for a replacement.

Burned out within a few hours
We were using this to power a wireless AP that was just a touch over 300ft. The intent was to use this as insurance to make sure it stays clean. Immediately it had issues with the Cisco switch and renegotiating higher power after the initial boot, which resulted in the switch withdrawing power and creating a reboot cycle. After statically allocating a full 30W to the port it came up and ran for 2 hours and then the extender went dark and the switchport went down. I couldn't recover the Trendnet device no matter what I did so bypass it and hope for the best. I'd say this box cost me $800 in lost time trying to get it working and constant dispatches to keep it working.

Works perfectly
Works as described and restored weak signal on extended run for poe camera due to signal loss. I was at the max range (330 ft) for camera and kept experiencing signal loss. Plug and play, wish I would have know about these type of products when setting up system. Would have saved me a lot of time

Gave the boost we needed
This was a great purchase for my warehouse. We had a greater distance to go than Cat5e was capable of handling without dropping occasionally. We put this in about halfway in the line and the speed was noticeably better. Real easy to install and tremendous value for the money.

Excellent long run booster
Worked fantastic for boosting the signal on a long ethernet run. Was getting poor signal at external building. This device corrected it so getting strong signal now. Not using POE

good internet connectivity
When it works, it works. When it doesn't, pray you get lucky and you're sent a functioning replacement. We use the repeater to extend the internet to an outbuilding, and buried it in a supposedly sealed container. Well, it worked for months until water got into the box. Dang. It wasn't the repeater's fault water made it stop working, so I purchased a new one to replace it. The replacement didn't work at all, no signal out. Tested the line going into the box, good internet connectivity. Tested the line coming out of the box, nothing (despite using different ethernet cables). The "Data Out" LEDs wouldn't light up. Ok, everyone gets a lemon once in a while. I did the return/replacement offered via Amazon. I received the 2nd replacement, and wouldn't you know it, the replacement didn't work either. The Data Out LEDs only lit up for a 2nd and then nothing. No data passed through the repeater. Just for giggles, I tried the original, now dry, repeater. Everything lit up as you'd expect, and the computer could at least recognize limited connectivity when plugged into the dried-out, original repeater - not internet, but it could at least see something was connected to it. At least it proved I wasn't trying to install it incorrectly (it is a simple plug-and-play). 1/3 work right out of the box, not great odds.

Good POE power injector
When you need to inject power to reach a POE device, such as a camera, and just don't need to buy a POE multiport switch, this works fine.

Needed a solution to having a 300+ Meter rj45 run with a switch in between. After months of constant drop outs and latency, I swapped out the switch in the middle for one of these signal boosters and problem solved. I plan on adding a second one to eliminate yet another switch if problems return, which is unfortunate as it has a secondary backup RJ45 extension with no option to run a full one, but for now everything is working good.
