Does the job brilliantly
Printer was very easy to set up, thankfully, because the instructions were a bit cryptic, and I was slightly puzzled to see a DVD included with the instructions. Who uses DVDs these days? However, the touch screen display guides you through everything very clearly once you've switched the printer on. Having read the reviews AFTER I ordered the printer, I was a bit worried about Mac compatibility. I've had Epson printers before, but I also have an old (2014) MacBook Air. In the past, I have used a USB cable that connects the laptop to the printer, which overrides any network issues. However, you need to scan the QR code on this printer in order to "find" it, and having used my iPad to do this, I discovered that I got better results. You can also use a smartphone. (Time to get a new laptop, I think!) The double cassette arrangement seems a bit clunky - you have to fill the paper cassette and replace it with the photo paper cassette on top. I was a bit worried that I hadn't done it properly, but it seemed to work all right. It took me less than an hour to unpack, set up and get the machine working. That included the initialization process which takes 10 minutes, installing the ink cartridges, and all the alignment checks. Best feature for me is the fact that the output tray opens and shuts automatically. In the past I would wander off to make a cup of tea and return to find an irritating message saying it hadn't been pulled out properly, so nothing had printed. Having made a couple of minor criticisms, you may wonder why I've given this printer five stars. Perhaps I'm easily impressed because my last printer never seemed to be able to print anything without missing bits, or smudges or blots. I've never printed photos before because I've never been confident that I'll get a good result. However, the print quality on this one is excellent, absolutely first class.

Good all-in-one
First things I printed on this were some photos. I must say, the print quality was impressive, for a budget printer. What loses it a star in that department is the print quality on documents. It's as good as an inkjet can be, but laser printing beats inkjet every time where letters, etc, are concerned. Two paper trays is a handy thing to have to. It switches from one to the other seamlessly, once you've set the preferences how you want them. The wifi connection is good, I've printed from my laptop at the other end of the house. Of course, wifi quality is largely down to your modem, not the printer itself. The only unknown is its durability as I've only had it a month or so. Overall, very good value for money.

Really good quality
I bought this printer to replace my previous HP printer which had been an absolute disaster of unreliability and connectivity problems. Well this is completely the opposite. Setup was incredibly simple, adding it to WiFi very easy, both Macs and PCs happily found and installed the drivers for it straight away, and the print quality has been excellent. I have some very slight concerns that there are moving parts that just don't need to move (the output tray extends itself out when it's about to print - it makes the device more compact when it's not printing, but the plasticky gears seem like a good failure point to me, and it's really unnecessary) and you would want to be careful if children are using it. The reason I've not given a five star review is because Epson, like all the printer companies, provide just a pathetic amount of ink in the "setup" pack. I know it lets them keep the cost of the printer low, which makes them seem like a more attractive purchase, but buying a printer only to find that after a couple of days you need to spend £100 on replacement ink cartridges feels like a "bait and switch" manouver. It would be better for consumers if printer companies stopped this practice.

Great product
I bought this specifically for the ability to print direct to CD. Its a great versatile product. It is easy to use and the software tool to allow you to print to CD is easy to use and very intuitive. You can do everything from it for printing direct to CDs- from printing cd inserts to printing direct to CDs with white coating on them. The print quality is also very good. The tough screen is small but easy to use and I had no problem connecting it to my wifi router to be able to print directly via wifi. I have the printer next door to the computer and encountered no problems setting it up (after initially connecting it to the computer USB cable - which was not supplied)

1st Class
Needed a new printer to replace a 10 year old HP. As a keen photographer the most important feature was the quality of the prints. After a few test prints and adjustments to the printer settings up to now I've been pleased with the results. Seems to respond well to small adjustments made through the editing software and print speed in fairly good even on best quality setting (although this was not a factor when choosing the printer) The scanner and copier also seem to have a reasonable quality, but I've only used these features with documents, so can't comment on picture quality. Set up was straightforward, connected to Wi-Fi without any problems although the printer has an USB option. As with most printers ink cost always raises an eyebrow, but I'm a light user this is not an issue for me. Like the fact that you get individual cartridges so only replacing the necessary colour.

Excellent good quality and value for money.
A very compact machine. I purchased this printer 🖨 on the recommendation of a friend. Iam absolutely delighted with it's performance especially the photo prints, the colours are exceptionally clear and true B&W printing is a doddle, duplex printing works very well.Loading the ink cartridges is very easy, the touch screen is both intuitive and easy to use. All in all I think this Epson xp8600 is a super little printer delivering big results.

I had a Epson printer for 5 years and it just kept having paper jam's up till then I've been very happy with the photo's I've printed over the years. So I've replaced it with another Epson so far I'm very happy with my new printer!!!

The printer does all I want and more.. One the best aspects is that it folds away so is very easy to keep clean. The quality of print and the ease of operation are quite outstanding. My only criticism is of the delivery. The exterior box it was delivered in It was far too large and had insufficient internal packing. The Epson packaging was excellent.

I deliberately bought this product as it was recommended by a couple of chain store salesmen and they did not have any in stock and were not likely to get any. Service was excellent from this company and the quality of the photos is just what I wanted. Highly recommend.
