for the minimalist. Fits the new iPad.
Just installed mine yesterday and it was quite easy if you take your time and use something flat like a credit card or pen to work the air bubbles out as you go. I absolutely love this thing, it's every bit as beautiful as it is functional.Pros: increases gripattractivedoesn't scratch easilycovers the part of the ipad that makes contact when in typing modematches black smart cover very close (color, not material)cons:you can feel the edge of the material as its about 1mm high or so, but it's not a deal breaker and it's nice not to have to worry about scratches. This is a great option for refined scratch protection, but don't expect this to protect you from large bumps and/or drops.Posting pics for your viewing pleasure! :)

Why would anyone want this on their iPad? I guess it adds some protection from scratching, but it is thin and slick... almost as slick as the back of the device itself. It feels very cheap. I'm paying $8 to send this back

Just Ok
The BOOKback is a designed to work with Apple's smartcover and it does that perfectly. The material is thick and the adhesive is very strong but, because of how the cut-outs are I can see this thing peeling off quickly. The packaging states that you can reapply the "cover" many times over but, I have my doubts. The adhesive is going to pick up dust every time you peel it off and reapply it. Eventually the edges wont stay down. That however is yet to be seen. I'll have to update my review after a few days of good use.The one thing I don't like is how the edges of the iPad feel with the BOOKback in place. The BOOKback doesn't cover the edges of the iPad and my fingers end up on both the metal edge and the leathery feel of the cover. Like the title...just ok.

IPad 2 cover
The ease of installation and the product itself is terrific. This was purchased for its ability to prevent sliding and slipping. That's where the product falls slightly short. A little more "traction" would make it perfect!

You and your iPad will spend even more time together.
DODOcase comes with a reputation, they make exceptional accessories for iDevices. Even President Obama has been spotted using a DODO case on several occasions. After a long period of using hard-shell back covers for my iPad, I've decided I was careful enough to go with something a bit more lighter and pleasant to the touch. Before I went with BOOKback, I've bought SPIGEN's SGP Skin Guard which you'd think would work just as well for (slightly) less the cost. It didn't. It was peeling around the camera hole and collected oil from finger tips. I returned it after a week of use (just to be sure I haven't overreacted). It's wondrous how a piece of Moroccan fabric on iPad's back can change your interaction with it. You want to pick it up more, you read more, you play more etc. It's a great addition to your tablet, both aesthetically and functionality wise. It's been over two months now that I've had the BOOKback on, and not once have I thought of taking it off. Also it hasn't peeled off on any of the corners or shown any signs of wear (no smudges on the back also!) Simply put, one of the best $25 spent on an iPad accessory.

Good addition
Makes the iPad a little easier to handle, less likely to slip. That would be perfect, but it could be just a bit tackier, a little more of a rubbery feel. Slight problem with bubbles under the cover, but they're almost not there. If you really want, you could pop the little air pockets with a needle.

Not bad, not great.
Not exactly the texture I was expecting but it's fine. Thought it would have a slightly more refined grip.If carefully applied it will cover the bottom of your ipad to prevent scratches.

Wonderful minimal back protection for the ipad
I've had the Dodo BookBack on my iPad 2 for 10 months now, and I love it so much I'm ordering another to have ready for the New iPad when it arrives. Perfect for those of us that don't drop our precious electronics, it prevents the aluminum from being scratched when laying the iPad on a surface. But more importantly, it adds some natural texture to the iPad, making it much more enjoyable to hold in your hand, like a leather steering wheel. It is still in great shape after so long on my iPad, though I had one for my iPhone as well that did not fare as well. I did love it on my iPhone but due to the heat and moisture and living in my pocket, the iPhone bookback's adhesive got gooey along the edges and started separating after just a few months. A great companion to a smart cover as well.
