Update: I ordered this camera in December and I loved it. But 2 months later, the power had an issue and I contacted Amazon and then was directed to Foscam. Foscam employee (Yiko) was extremely helpful. After some attempts to reboot, etc, he asked me to send the Camera back and Foscam sent me a replacement camera. Yiko made sure I got my shipping fee refunded. Yes, it took a week or so for the replacement to arrive, but one of the best customer services I've ever experienced. This camera is amazing and I am planning to order more for my newly finished basement. pS: Amazon also made sure (called me twice) that my concerns were taken care of by the manufacturer.

The Foscam R4 is my 5th Foscam security camera. I am impressed with the image quality and especially night vision. Coverage for the 15x20' room is excellent. The camera support 2k but I found HD and even 720 was great quality. and reduced the wifi bandwidth. Set up was straightforward with a QR scan and voice prompts. I would give this five stars but I have to take away a star because the unit failed after only 5 months. It lost connectivity and after a factory reset was not discoverable. I contacted Foscam and received an immediate response from Yiko, from support. He initially arranged an RMA for a return, then responded that a replacement would be set without a return. Waiting for delivery only 2 days later.

Love the video quality and PTZ capabilities. EZ setup. Motion and/or human detection works well. The main area for improved performance is the audio. The microphone pickup is marginal unless the source is fairly close to the cam. This makes sound detection alerting marginally effective. I utilize three Foscam models, the 19821, R2, and R4. Overall I have been pleased with each iteration and would recommend the Foscam brand.

This is our second purchase of the same camera. The picture is excellent and the ui is extremely easy to use. We tried several other cameras some of them had that annoying fisheye view, this one does not. It also has a great field of view and I can see all the areas that I need to. The night vision works extremely well. We have had zero issues and the alert auto record feature works perfectly.

On time delivery and the camera itself seemed pretty decent, however without push notifications or an alarm triggering, there was no way for me to know that anything happened. I was using an iPhone 8 +. The reason I gave it 5 Stars is Foscam's customer service agent Tracy Xia was very responsive and tried several days to figure out what was wrong. When the issue of no push notifications or no alarms could not be resolved, she gave me a return authorization. When they received the camera back, they issued me a full refund.

I just purchased 5 of these. The cord is very short. Unlike other cameras I've tried, the Foscam does not use a plug-in wall adapter with interchangeable USB to micro-USB cord. The interchangeable cord design of other models allows you to purchase cords of different lengths which is very nice. Foscam uses proprietary cord terminal and fixed cord. A very bad design.Foscam image has a fair amount of fisheye distortion.Cannot adjust brightness of the image.The customer chosen camera name does not appear on the recording screen. Only "Foscam_Camera" and there's no way to change it. What's the point of that?The constant reminders trying to get you to purchase their cloud storage are terribly annoyingCannot adjust the order of multiple cameras in the app. There is a field where the app appears to have this feature but it does not work. It would be nice to be able to prioritize certain camera views to the 1st page and other camera views to subsequent pages.

I've had this camera for 2 months and would send it back if I could. Went out of town and could not connect. When I returned I had to hit the reset button twice for it to even give a picture on the app. I am using this camera wirelessly. The user interface is awful and not user friendly on my computer. I have a laptop and the command icons exceed the size of the screen resulting in several scroll bars. Inconvenient! I've also had trouble with the pan/tilt/zoom control not showing up consistently on the screen. I do like the Foscam picture and night vision capability but I feel camera reliability is the most important factor when you want a camera that you can view while away from home. Sad to say, this camera falls way short of that mark.

We've been using foscam camera for a while now and the one we recently purchased died prematurely.I emailed [email protected] and I got a respond the following day from Amber.She helped me to troubleshoot the camera by sending me a recovery program but that didn't work.Once we exhausted all troubleshooting options, she asked me to send her a copy of the invoice and soon we'll get the newer model as replacement. This is the first foscam camera failed on me but thankfully Amber was there to help me. So, thank you, Amber. Let's hope the replacement will last longer as my other foscam cameras.JB

This is my third Foscam that has failed. These fail around a year. My previous Foscam were different models to R4. I thought they would have improved their quality on their newer models but obviously not.I have contacted the Amazon reseller and Foscam directly for RMA. Hoping they will be able to support me.When the camera is working, then it is good. I was able to connect to Synology Surveillance Station with no issues. Video quality is good and so is the night vision.I have ordered Reolink E1 Zoom to see if they are any good; reviews look positive.
