Very good book focusing on real practical problems faced in industry, written by someone with wealth of experience in industry. The case studies are real plant experiences not theory.

Extremely disappointed. This high-dollar book sports archaic reader aids, namely black and white low resolution photos and poor graphics. I believe the 1st edition came out in the early 1980's and my best guess is the photos reproduced in the current 4th edition are the originals, same for the hand drawn graphics and occasional photo-copied table insert. For a 2012 release and the price commanded the critical reader aids should be updated with available high resolution images and computer derived graphics.

The book itself have a very good content and information. The cover itself is eye catching and very professionally made though the accompanying photo or visual reference to further explain the materials are mostly in black and white. The black and white photo does not do justice in providing additional explanation to the subject at hand.
