Works great. Too bad my old RAM Mount handlebar mount didn't come with the plastic insert for the U-bolt. I used it to mount a RAM mirror to my ATV with a Long Arm. There was no room on the handlebars for it, so I put it on the corner of the rack extension that goes around my front rack/cargo box.

Love my ram mounts for my motorcycle! Had to buy a replacement because after multiple times of moving it and over tightening it I tightened it too much and broke the threads. But very strong and durable. Highly recommend

I put three of these on my bike: one to use with a phone mount, another for an Insta360 camera, and a third for a RAM Mount cup holder. Very sturdy. Not much handlebar space to fit a mount, these are a good solution.

I'm using three of these RAM U-bolt mounts on a Trek DS 8.5 hybrid bicycle. Although the 31.8mm diameter handlebars have a tapered diamater rather than a fixed diameter, I was able to tighten this mount down securely with no problem by using the smaller of the two U-bolts. The larger 1.5" U-bolt also fit nicely over the fattest 31.8mm section of the handlebars. The V notch on the bottom of the mount combined with the U-bolt allows easy tightening against a round surface with increasing diamater. I use it to hold a Garmin Oregon 450, a Samsung Galaxy Player WiFi 5.0, and a flashlight/headlight. I appreciate that the U-bolts I received in this kit are painted black: The black hardware blends better with my black handlebars. One of my favorite features of RAM products in the ball-and-socket joint. Once you tighten it down, it stays put. However, there's still a little bit of flex in the rubber balls so that whole setup absorbs some shock. I appreciate that on my mountain bike. The kit includes (see additional uploaded picture): The aluminum mount with 1" rubber ball 2 black U-bolts--a smaller 1" width one and a larger 1.5" width 2 nuts with nylon friction inserts 2 rubber nubs to cover the U-bolt ends 1 plastic adapter insert to narrow the U-bolt down for use on handlebars as small as 1/2" in diameter Be careful with part numbers. RAM-B-231Z items seem to have multiple configurations on RAM's website. Some hardware is zinc coated, some is stainless steel, and some is black powder coated. I ordered RAM-B-231ZU from Amazon retailer GPSCheap and received the parts as indicated above. I ordered another RAM-B-231ZU from GPSCity and received the zinc coated 1" U-bolt only. The rubber nubs were too loose to use in my application, partly because their inner diameter is too large and partly because I didn't have enough of the U-bolts exposed for them to be very useful or secure. Also, the kit does not come with washers (-1 star) and you'll likely scratch the mount with the nuts as you tighten if you don't add your own washers. I added washers in order to protect the mount. Be cautious when installing: If you're metal against metal, you may cause some scratching with the U-bolt as you position it.

This base mount is a great product. I have three of the ball mounts, a handheld GPS holder and a quick release strut from RAM mount. I can move my GPS from bikes to boat. It is easy to remove the GPS. The zinc coated may not be the best choice for high salt humidity, but only time will tell. After one year on bike in Florida no issues. Popping the GPS in and out of the holder made me nervious at first but, this stuff is rugged, and the plastic GPS holder has held up well. All nice products I recommend them.

I have a weatherproof case for my phone with GPS Trailmaster trail maps for both my ATV and for my snowmobile. This Ram mount fit perfect on the handle bars of my ATV and I have a flat mount on my windshield bag for my sled.

I bought this along with the RAM Mount X-Grip IV large phone cradle. Installation on my motorcycle (Honda CB500X) was super easy. Used it on an off-road trip through Black Mountain Wilderness north of Barstow and it worked beautifully. It was my first time going off-road with my motorcycle, so of course I fell A LOT! But this mount held up nicely. Never once shifted in place and even riding over rough terrain it doesnt vibrate. Not that these items are very heavy, but it held the weight of a my LG G3, Nexus 7 tablet, and TomTom GPS without issue. Definitely recommend this to others wanting a solid mount for their motorcycle.

Je recommande. il y a deux anneaux de serrage pour différent diamètre c'est top. J ai apprécié aussi les petits capuchon au bout des tiges fileté pour que ca soit mieux fini (je ne l'ai ai pas monté sur la photo). Les écrous sont a serrer avec une plate de 11. Je conseille de mettre du ruban silicone auto adhérents autour du guidon avant de monter le support afin d'être sur de ne pas marquer le guidon et aussi pour avoir aucune vibration

Meets expectation

A good, solid piece of kit that feels well made and of substantial weight (which is quite reassuring). Easy to fit although my motorbike doesn't have full width handlebars so was a bit different but got it on and it's well secured. Only purchased and fitted a short while ago but have been out for a few runs with no issues and I'm really pleased with it and would definitely recommend.
