Ignore all the others, this is the real deal.
After a few years of spending money on cheaper versions of this that turned out to be completely worthless, I finally stepped up a bit and bought this. Best thing I've ever done! I've learned that my soil was too acidic and also that I was watering WAY too much. I use this primarily for tomatoes and this year I have already have one fully ripe (and delicious!) and have dozens of others on the way. Last year I had a handful, the whole season. Sad. This year I'll be giving them away. I put it in the ground as far as it will go, set a timer on my phone for about ten minutes and walk away. When I get back, the ph reading is on the screen, press the button and it tells you about moisture. Easy!

Good meter but you need to be careful
This is the second time I'm buying this meter. The first lasted about 2 years. I use it to measure the pH and moisture level of my 13 fruit trees. The soil is mainly clay. I ended up breaking the tip of my first meter when I wasn't careful enough extracting it from the soil. I believe this is a good meter and if you're careful, it'll last a while.

Works great
Have only used a couple times, but seems to be well built and works great.

Good quality instrument
This is a good quality built instrument with a probe long enough to get down in the soil for a good reading. It seems pretty accurate. The only thing you've got to remember about this tool is that it takes a few minutes to get a reading since it's not a electronic device with batteries, but I feel you get a better handle on a ph reading

Built like a dollar store toy
Donte waste your money. The ph reader is useless. You can stick it in a bag of standard potting soil and peat moss and get almost identical readings. If you rely on the moisture meter to tell you when to water, your plants will die. It will give you a ballpark figure of the moisture and that's about it it. This cheap piece of equipment probably cost 50 cents to produce. Look elsewhere unless you want to get scammed.

Worth the money for the information it provides
I am impressed. Various places in my yard range in PH from 6 to a neutral 7. And if I check the next day get same measurements so it appears to be highly repeatable.Quality is decent especially for the low price.I suspect the electrode collar and electrode point have their dissimilar metals electroplated or anodized on them which explains the instructions to wipe them off gently after use, to not leave them in the ground over an hour, or store touching other metals. You don't want to scratch off the coating or deplete it due to drawing current through the electrodes for long periods (galvanic action)I am suspicious of many of the negative reviews - I wonder if they represent competing products or test stripsI would buy again. A few uses pay for the meter considering the cost of keeping good plants beautifulfwiw, on of my nine Rose's was too acidic, ph of 9. That was always my poorest plant and since it is in the same bed as my others i always assumed the PH was good. Before having this meter it never occurred to me to test each plant.Also. I have not needed ten minutes for the meter to 'stabilize'. In our moist florida soil the final reading is reached within a couple minutes

Seems accurate-update
Product appears to give accurate information based on known conditions. The meter is now showing high moister when the soil was so hard that the end broke off of the probe when I tried to push it further into the ground.

It reads PH levels accurately.
This is. Y first PH reader. So I have nothing to compare it to. Good instructions. No battery needed, just put it in the soil and wait ten or fifteen mins.
