If you are interested making your own immune support teas, medicinal tinctures, gardening, DIY stuff, this kit works as described and very well.Follow the instructions and you'll have your own Reishi mushrooms in 6-8 weeks from the day you get the package.The seller also provides great support if you have questions during the process.Use the humidity bag provided! Or you'll end up having to make one😅. They won't grow as well or as fast without it.Watch for over spraying, and do not spray the mushrooms like I did, or you may develop mold from pooling water. Only spray the inside of the bag.If you see any mold, Don't Panic, immediately just gently wipe/scrub it off with a *Sterile* cloth / wipes and some isopropyl alcohol, I had success using cotton face wipes and Q-tips.*Mold did not return* - after discovering the mold, I removed the humidity tent bag for 24 hrs to allow all excess moisture to evaporate, and soaked up pooling water on the mushrooms and substrate with dry sterile cotton pads, then sterilized the humidity bag.During the time of allowing mushrooms air dry for the 24 hrs, I soaked the entire humidity bag in a sterile bleach solution in a bucket to kill mold spores for 10-20 minutes, rinsed it off really well, and let it dry completely overnight, then resprayed the inside of bag with fresh water and put it back over the mushrooms the next day. *Never saw any mold return after this*.Nor did I over spray again.😅Just follow the directions, and watch the videos. It's really easy, educational and fun.

These mushrooms come ready to grow. Keep in a cool dark place, occasionally spritz with water and they just kept coming. It was fun for the kids and very tasty.

**UPDATE 1/20/2024* After attempting to contact seller three times, we requested Amazon Customer Service contact us. The customer service rep put me on hold and contacted the seller. Current status is I have a message from seller apologizing and sending a replacement next week. I will update again when it arrives. //Ordered this for our son who is into growing mushrooms. We ordered three different kinds, but only one came from Mushroom Man. The order came with a black mold and cobweb mold inside the package. Our son said it was contaminated but we tried it anyway since it is a non returnable item. All we got was more black mold, some blue and pink molds and cobweb mold. And an awful smell. No mushrooms. Tried to contact Mushroom Man via Amazon and was told we would get a response from him. It has been a couple of weeks and nothing. We sent him pictures of the package the way it arrived and what it turned into....no response. I get that a food item isn't returnable, but when it arrives moldy, there should be some effort to make it right. Not cool!

For a beginner, mycology can be daunting but the Mushroom Man takes great care in helping you. You’ll be encouraged to ask questions and he welcomes sending photos in. The tutorial video isn’t too long and just gives the basic info you need. I’ll buy from him again.

I'm not sure how long this was at our home before my husband saw it and handed it to me. Things were nuts, so it didn't get set up right away. We are now 3 weeks into this and still nothing seems to be growing. Either I got a dud, or it is human error. It apparently is much more temperamental than kits I got from other companies.I have not given up, so if it ever grows I will update this.

The results for these individual kits will vary quite a bit.I kept my kit out and hydrated for about two months before the first shoots showed, and then it produced a few of the reishi mushrooms.Then, it stopped. I tried the water dunking method, but with my kit it never came around. The literature with the kit shows a technique for using wedges out of logs to create a long term reishi source, but I am debating taking the time to do that.If you want a fairly sure-fire way of getting mushrooms to grow indoors as a part of a science project, teaching effort, etc. then this is a great kit. (You just have to have patience.)If you are looking for a large amount of product for the price tag then this kit might be a disappointment.

My 'experiment' in growing these Reishi Mushrooms worked great! I received a decently sized crop (which have been tinctured and will be decocted for full health benefits) and see another batch of small ones starting. Followed the directions and they fruited and grew as described in the instructions. Received a subsequent question about how long I left them in the box unopened (wanted to wrap as present I presume LOL); I took mine out of the box within a day or two of receipt and left them in the closed, clear bag in indirect sunlight. Didn't recommend leaving them in the box for more than a week or so. Mine were 'dated' to not open the clear bag's air patch until about 3 weeks after receipt. They started growing very quickly after that.

Well, i bought 2 of them, thought i followed instructions, put one downstairs where its very warm, and one upstairs, where it is average warmth. so they were withen the temperature range, and inflated air into the bag, but what grew was an abomination.beginners error probably, but both bags got contaminated by somthing that for sure isnt reishi. its white fluffy and occupies half the bag. was excited to get into growing these. and now im the opposite, i have 45 bucks less money, 2+ months of disappointed waiting, and nothing to show for it. que the sad trombone sound.
