Quick and easy with great results
I've used this brand for years. It easy to apply. The color blends beautifully. It's quick and easy with great results. And it was so convenient to order it through Amazon rather than to run to my local store.

Color matches existing natutal hair color every time
This is a great product - I had auburn hair and try to get a color close to my original hair. This touch-up kit is almost eerie because the color always matches the auburn color even when I buy different versions of red. I dropped a star because there is not enough to color all the roots and I have to use two to have enough. I also dye the roots with this product before I use the companion dye for the whole head. The result is always even, no skunk line where the colors differ. Delivery was on time.

Good match for 6R/Light Auburn Shades, but has more brown, so roots look really natural.
I love this stuff. My natural hair is dark brown with some grays, but the "baby hairs" on my neck and forehead are very light. I dye my hair with "Light Auburn" (Loreal 6R shades), and about 6 weeks later need to re-dye (you can see the brown roots as a distinct line against the red). I used to use the 6R hair color to touch-up (following the "touch-up directions") but it leaves my hair all the exact same color (the hallmark of home-dying...). If, instead, I use the root touch-up, the effect is different: the root touch-up is just a tad browner than the dye, so at 6-8 weeks after a full dye, when I use the Root Touch Up 6R, rather than just more of the hair dye, my hair looks awesome--very natural (just slightly darker at the roots than the ends). Then, when it grows in, I do NOT have the distinct brown/red line...I can go 6+ weeks without re-dying, or until the grays drive me nuts. I can go almost 3-4 months without doing a full re-dye, but then I CAN (because by then my ends need a boost of red) do a full re-dye without saturating my hair. I have pretty generically brown hair with natural red highlights, pale skin and blue eyes, and have died my hair "Light Auburn" (Loreal 6R shades) for so long everyone thinks I have red hair. Anytime I have tried using any red hair color that mentions brown, such as Loreal's "6AB Chic Auburn Brown" or "6RB Light Reddish Brown", the brown deposited so heavily that it really looked fake (the brown will dye the light baby hairs on my neck and forehead, and it looks weird). I find that 6R (no B!) leaves the fine hairs that grown in around my face a light color, not dark, and it looks so much more natural. So I was skeptical about using a root touch-up that mentioned a brown in the name, but because the root touch up is labeled 6R (no B!), I gave it a try. While the root touch up seems darker than the regular hair dye, it does NOT dye the light hairs a dark brown. Yey! When I use the Clairol Root Touch-Up Permanent Hair Color Creme, 6R Light Auburn Brown, on my roots, paired with Loreal's 6R Light Auburn (Excellence or Preference...doesn't matter) on my hair, I get a professional-looking, natural look that, when it grows out, does NOT show a line. It may just be my imagination, but the 6R root touch-up is just a hair darker than the 6R hair color, so it is the perfect in-between.

Perfect match!
I had used this product years ago but have baylayaged my brownish hair and never had roots to worry about. Now I get red put over my light brown hair which is naturally a little darker brown. The red washes out, grows out, and then there's a dreaded "line of demarcation" (dark roots) I gave this a try again as i remembered it was easy to use. This got me through an extra 2 months to my next salon color. I'm going to space my salon color farther apart and use this in between, saving $!
