There is too much magnification to use as a travel mirroe

I've replaced the batteries, and it still doesn't light. Is it possible it's the bulb?

Either the bulb, or the wires that run through the hinge at the mirror. Seems there are multiple reviews that state it is a broken wire issue. We got one years ago, and this is where it broke. Too difficult (for us) to repair - believe this is a design flaw. However, it is a very useful mirror, so we're getting another. Just need to remember not to fold it up a lot.

what is the color temperature on these LED bulbs in this mirror?

Not sure about the color temperature. It's not a full face mirror you would typically use for applying full face makeup. It just shows one area at a time such as 1 eye. Can easily see if a fine hair like texture is in it to remove. Or if you have a fine hair to pluck, etc. You can use to apply makeup to one part at a time such as 1 eye or lips then use a larger mirror to see full face end result.
