Pegboard 16in x 32in Horizontal Galvanized Metal Pegboard Tool Board Panel

Recently retired and went all out on doing my garage, something I've been needing and wanting to do for quite some time. I knew i wanted to incorporate some pegboard, but already had black as a base color for everything so I went with these galvanized metal pegboards. First off, they look great. Second, they were super easy to install and for their weight, are really sturdy. I bought some heavy duty hangers to use with them and they're perfect. For an added touch, I decided to backlight the pegboard sections with LED lights. Yes, completely overdone but it's pretty awesome.

I ordered 2 of the 16H x 32W panels for our laundry room, and another half dozen panels (some horizontal, some vertical) for my workshop. Overall, I am very pleased with them. They are extremely sturdy and work as intended to hang tools, the ironing board, our Dyson hand vac, etc. (I used self-locking hex nuts with nylon centers to mount the Dyson, which fit the spacing in the board perfectly.) I have given the product 5 stars, but would have given 4.5 if that were possible, because of 2 issues: First, the hooks have a tendency to come loose, even with the (somewhat annoying) double-movement to insert or remove. I came up with a solution to the problem: I use rare earth magnets to retain the hooks in the board. Small oblong magnets for the Wall Control hooks (which are flat), and round magnets for all of my old "legacy" hooks left over from my old masonite wall boards (Insert the magnet underneath the hook, between the mounting pins; that keeps the hook from coming out, and from pointing downward). The other issue is that these boards are designed for studs that are 16 inches on center. If the studs are not spaced exactly 16" OC, then you have to use the drywall anchors, which are barely up to the job of supporting the panels, let alone any tools. Fortunately, I was able to get at least 4 out of the six mounting points for each panel aligned over studs. The 3rd pair of holes are in drywall, but all they really do is hold the panel snug against the wall. The other 4 are really what's carrying the load, weight-wise. You can see where I cut a little strip of paneling to fill an odd space between studs. One other thing I really like is the brackets for hanging an LED shop lamp. Notice in the photos that I attached the brackets at the ends of a panel, which lets me take advantage of running screws through the pre-drilled holes in the brackets, then thru the pre-drilled holes in the panels themselves, and then into the studs. Nice and secure. The brackets do a perfect job of suspending the LED light above my bench. So maybe 4.75 stars. Anyway - try them, you'll like them. They sure beat masonite, IMHO - especially if you use my little trick of rare earth magnets to retain the hooks.

Look, I review things that I either really love and want people to know about, or I really hate and want people to know about. Fortunately this one falls into the first category. It's well built, sturdy, and looks great. I mounted it inside of a small pantry-like closet with shelves on either side. This takes up the wall in between, and is used to hold flash lights, headlamps, rubber bands, lighters - random nick-nacks like that - as well as to hang backpacks along the bottom. Keeps everything tidy and organized and easy to find.

Good quality peg board. Looks good. Easy to install. Helps to keep garage organized and keeps things off the counters.

Used this item on the backboard of my gun building table. Very sturdy, and a great price. Being slotted also let's you do more with it with other items sold separately. It was very easy to install, wasn't to heavy and although I'll be purchasing another one, the size does give plenty of room for items and tools. Fast shipping! Will be purchasing again!

Great boards for your organizational OCD. I appreciate the fact that, unlike an Elfa board, they don’t require proprietary hardware to use them and can except a mixture of specialty hooks, big box pegboard supplies or even something as humble as a magnetic pencil cup. They seem plenty sturdy and have been holding my tools quite well. Just make sure you purchase the correct board as the slots need to be oriented vertically. Only downside is the corners are susceptible to get a little banged up during installation as the boards are heavy.

These steel metal peg boards are great , easy to install , now my work beach and tools are well placed and easy to get the hand tools are not scattered at different locations. Everything is well managed .Big difference from before and after. Should have purchased these horizontal and vertical peg boards long before.

The Canadian pricing on Wall Control products is high, but compared to the crappy Masonite and plastic options available at local retailers, these are totally worth it. They look great, they're super sturdy, and they're easy to mount.
