Excellent customer service addressed the issue!
I have raised my rating to 5 stars, & am going to leave previous review below on site in case anyone else has similar issue. BE ASSURED, Bestek will take care of you promptly if an issue arises! I heard from their customer service right after I left the previous review. However, I did not have time before I left to deal with it, so took the unit & hoped for the best. The unit worked just fine as converter and charger in the UK during my travels, albeit the high-pitched whine. I used it for elec toothbrush, iPad, & iPhone. It also got rather warm, even with the interior fan running. I couldn’t charge anything at night, or during the day if other people were around, due to the whine. If the whine started, I would have to unplug the unit from wall to make it stop. When I plugged it back in, sometimes it would be a little time before whine began again, sometimes it would start immediately. When I returned to U.S., I contacted Bestek to let them know I was back, and they sent me a new unit. The new one works perfectly. I can charge multiple items at once, no high-pitch whine, no matter how long everything’s plugged in—in fact, can BARELY hear interior fan, with my head right on top of it—and unit BARELY gets warm. The little fan inside runs even more quietly than the first unit’s. I’m excited to go back to Europe and use it. If anything changes with performance , I’ll be sure to note it. BESTEK did not want the first unit back, so I’m going to take it apart and try figure out why the whine occurs, if anyone’s interested. I’ll be letting BESTEK know what I find. Review of first unit: I wanted to test this before I head to the UK, so I plugged my electric toothbrush into it, used the U.S. adapter, and plugged it into the wall. After it warmed up a bit, the fan came on, which was fine, the little whirring noise isn't bad...like a tiny fan...however, LATER, it turned into a very high-pitched whine/whistle. The unit didn't feel any warmer than when it sounded like a fan, so I don't know why the change. Neither sounds are super loud, but I could hear the whine walking into the bedroom. So I turned unit OFF when I went to bed, and left it plugged in, thinking that OFF should stop the whine shortly. I made a pillow "wall" between me and the nightstand it was sitting on, which was enough obstruction so I couldn't hear the whine, and fell asleep. I woke up HOURS later, leaned over my pillow wall...and it was STILL WHINING! So I unplugged it, and almost immediately it stopped. BTW, my elec toothbrush got charged, so the elec current seems to be working fine. Only a 3 for now, as I hope I'll be able to plug it in away from my head when I'm in UK! More later!

Great product
We took this converter to Europe in May for a stay in the UK, and it worked perfectly for us. My husband uses a bipap machine at night, which meant we needed a dependable converter. This one was perfect. It's small enough to sit comfortably on a small bedside table, and the cord of the converter is long enough not to have to worry with an extension cord. The two extra plugs were very handy for charging my tablet and phone. One of the best features is that three things can be plugged in at once, with no need to unplug one device while using another. Also, the converter and its attachments (which all live in a handy drawstring bag) are lightweight enough not to add to packing headaches on flights. I'm very happy with this device.

Lifesaver overseas to Asia
We got two of these based on reviews and online articles about folks traveling to Korea and Japan. Those readings could not be more right. These things saved our bacon in terms of providing 1) the right adapter/plug compatibility and 2) enough plugs and ports to support all our devices (family of four, with multiple devices per person). Nothing short of great! I think the total charging capacity of this strip is not super high, so charging high powered devices may cause some problems. We came close and the unit started buzzing pretty loud, so we used a different plug for a few devices and that fixed the problem.

Very disappointing from a company I generally trust
I had another version of this same converter from 2018 and it continues to work flawlessly. This one from late 2024 did not work at all. Of course you will never know until after you travel and it is past the return window. In my case it was stowed away on a ship and just arrived in Europe after months of shipping travel. This is very disappointing.

Worked well in 220V foreign country, but fan noise was annoying.

Not Useful
This item only last for just few days before it stop working. My 110V trimmer/clipper burned out while plug-in to this transformer. Even when it is working, it makes this buzzing noise that is very irritating and annoying. Evening if this an off case with my own transformer, the buzzing noise will drive you banana. I do not recommend this item. The only good thing that comes out of using this item is that it convinced me to go purchase 220V appliances. Follow-up: After my review about my bad experience with this item, a representative of the company contact me and ask questions about the transformers and what appliance was affected in order for them to improve their product. They also fully refund me for the item. The company have an outside customer services.

AWESOME! So Sick! So glad I chose this converter
My last converter crapped out and it was time I upgraded to the more power strip style with all the work gadgets I have to schlep everywhere. I researched the heck out of all the options and I am very happy with my Bestek choice. From the picture you can see it has 3 standard US plugs and four USB ports. 1 fast charging. Only downside I wish it had one USB C but… no big deal. The fan is SUPER QUIET. And it doesn’t get hot like my previous one. I was able to charge my laptop, iPad, phone & ear buds simultaneously. I charge overnight & can’t be certain if charging multiple was longer. Everything was full charged each morning. My co worker had to borrow it because his broke and was also impressed. IMPORTANT NOTE: This is for business / computing electronics. This product states clearly it is not to be used with beautify/hair devices like blow dryers and hair irons. It did come with a carrying case though I didn’t like the dimensions and repurposed this old American Airlines amenity pouch. As it was more compact at 7”x3” and fit everything nicely. So Note: Cole Haan case not included as shown in my pictures :)

Works. But Way Too Noisy
Bought this for a first trip to France. Immediately upon arriving at my residence for the month got everything set up…and almost immediately the converter’s little fan started making this nearly-supersonic whine. Like having a high dog whistle constantly going. Tried to tune it out but then periodically when the converter is on and charging my phone, it’ll emit this weird rising electronic chirp at random. All the time. Finally the only way I could get any sleep or avoid a headache was to put the thing on the floor under the bed to SLIGHTLY muffle the noise enough that I could tune it out and sleep. Thought maybe it was an electrical issue with the place I was staying, but I’ve stayed now in five different places, from Paris to Lyon to Provence, and it happens everywhere. I bought a grounded European adapter (this doesn’t come with a grounded plug btw) and yet it still whines. Worked fine for charging my devices, but could have done without six weeks’ traveling France and constantly dealing with the whine. Won’t buy again.
