Emerson EAM-9002 Dual Handheld Wireless Microphone Starter Kit with Wireless FM Receiver, Black

I read a lot of bad reviews for this product, like any mass produced product you'll have defective items from time to time. I guess I got lucky and received one of the good units. The range of both mics thru walls going from one room to another of a 2052 sq ft home was incredible only found 1 "dead" spot in the furtherest area from the base receiver and then it depended on the direction facing in that room. The construction is a lightweight plastic that is honestly nice for holding the mic to your mouth for any length of time. Of course their not Shure or Audio 2000 but for the 30 some dollars I paid (15.99 for unit and 16 something for shipping to have them by Oct. 15th for our Halloween party)was well worth it and can't be beat. A slight hint of stactic can be heard but any amp or speaker system will have a slight hint of static. The sound quality was pretty darn good and honestly I was really surprised at how clear they are. The only bad thing I have to say is that yes my standby mode does not go to standby the mic transmits when the slide switch is in either on or stand by position but can be remedied by flipping the switch to off. All in all I'd recomend this product to anyone who has a home karaoke setup or small establishment where public address would be needed. I also must say that I was promised the unit would be delivered on Oct. 12, 2011 by 4:30pm, it was delivered Oct. 12, 2011 at 2:52pm. This also pleased me. i think this item is great for the price. It has a very decent range which is good if you are a DJ like me or are just having a Karoake night or whatever. two things i noticed that's a drawback are that it only has one frequency and it runs off batteries. With the one frequency there is alot of interference. If someone else has a wirless device similar to this it can easily interfere or even connect there device to your device. another thing is the batteries. they are not a problem for me but for people who hate buying them then this a problem for you. Also one other thing is the microphone cable to connect it to whatever you are gonna connect it to. i noticed with some karoake machines or Dj equipment you can just plug the mic cable straight in to the mic port. with an item such as your laptop you have to get an adapter so you can plug it in to the smaller mic port on you computer. they sale the adpaters which are called "1/4 to 3.5" on amazon for about 3 dollars. or if you cant wait you can go to radioshack but they are about 7 dollars there. Also the mic cable is really small so you might wanna find a cable cord that is alot longer depending on your needs!! overall this is a great item and the mics sound really great and the sound quality is clear. this is a great item for the price.

Really bad hum only one mic works

Great microphones for the price for home-use Karaoke. Battery life seems to be quite good and sound quality is fine as far as I'm concerned. The freedom of easily passing a mic from person to person without fear of tripping over a cord or jerking a plug out of the Karaoke machine alone makes it worth the price.One bit of advice...don't hold the bottom of the mic against your body. That is apparently where the transmit antenna is located and holding the bottom close to your body without a clear line of sight to the receiver can create interference.

I'm using these microphones for a karaoke party and I haven't tested it out with a bunch of people yet but I have tested it out with two people singing at the same time.I found the microphones to be weak BUT they work!Sometimes the microphones stop working but if you just wiggle or play around with the switch it works.For the price, this is a great microphone. If you are looking for something more durable/reliable I wouldn't rely on these. I also have another dual system, Nady that I found in the garbage lol. Nady is much stronger and louder.But for me and my karaoke needs, this was just fine!!

I'm in love with this unit. I bought 2 sets, one for me and one for my nephew. Since January 17, 2012 both sets work perfectly so far. We even tried to use them all four together with our "base", 3 worked very good and one was silent till they took it back to the "mother base".In short: unit is nice, quite solid made and with decent design. Sound is clear, especially if you stay far from speakers. Microphones works fine at a distance of 22 feet (7 meters), it was enough for my kind of karaoke in my small apartment :)) And the greatest thing is the price I gave - $20.97 for each.Also the seller company - they are perfect, I received 1st set a little bit later than they predicted, later I learnt that it was caused by "postmen", but second came really as scheduled. I would recommend them to all of you.

came with batteries that didnt work, so got new ones, only one microphone worked , I was saving for later use in the summer so didnt't realize the problem until after I went to use them by then it was past the 30 return window. the one that works seems to be ok, tried 3 batteries and still wont come one.

After reading through the reviews I was skeptical about purchasing this product but I decided to go for it anyway because of the low price, it was GREAT CHOICE. It arrived very quickly and in good condition, and the mics work surprisingly well. I read a lot of reviews saying the range for this product was inadequate, that is not the case. I was able to walk all through my house (approx. 2,500sqft) without any problems; it even worked from my basement to upstairs. Two things I have noticed are that yes the standby mode is useless, but that's not a big deal. And I have to turn the gain up fairly high on my mixer to reach the desired volume level. All in all, this was a great buy at an excellent price and I'm very happy I decided to go for it.
