Update: April 2024 My Amazon account shows I’ve purchased this box of Swedish fish 10 times over the last few years. Period. The last two times the fish have been stale, super tough, chewy and horrible. I literally have thrown them away. They’re not edible. I won’t risk buying them here online anymore. Previously, before the last two at least three of them were the freshest fish ever. So soft and flavorful. Others have been pretty well normal but these last two have been absolutely horrible and they weren’t expired. They were still like six months left to the expiration date so I don’t know if it’s how they’re stored or they’ve been in extreme temperatures or what. I think in order to be fresh you need at least a year or more before the expiration date. ORiGINAL REVIEW: First and foremost these are the freshest Swedish Fish I have ever had. There are only 17 fish in the package which comes out to 0.75 per box at a cost of $9.00 for 12 boxes. As a Prime member shipping is free so overall a bargain. Fish are sealed in a cellophane bag inside the box. The one drawback is that there is no uniformity on the colors you get. One box had 7 yellow (my least favorite) and 2 green, 3 red and 5 orange. Love these though and have ordered again. Especially handy during the pandemic lock down. As long as the price stays close to $9.00 I will be a regular buyer. UPDATE: I ordered a second box and while they weren't as fresh they were still good and soft enough. Update: third box received and they are as fresh as the first box. Ordered in May 2020, Best if used by date on box was Feb 2021.

Love these Swedish fish. Best thing is that these are the assorted pack. I hate the the all red packs. These were fresh and with very few broken pieces.

Tough as nails. Even though the best by date is late summer, these were a real disappointment. Very difficult to chew. Even tried holding a few in a closed hand to warm them up hoping it would make them easier to eat. Sadly, these were horrible, threw them away (an entire case)

Very disappointed with the quality. This was the 4th purchase and this was the first time I had issues. The fish tasted as if they were not stored/ shipped appropriately. The fish were cracking and more importantly the sugar had crystallized on the outside like they had been stored in a heated area. Pretty gross actually.

No issue with order. Well preserved.
