does this come with a power supply?

The H4n does operate on 2 AA batteries (it's a wise idea to invest in some rechargeable batteries for your recording kit, so that way you're always ready to record at any time), however, the H4n CAN also be powered by an AC power cable (the H4n just doesn't come with the cable). But there is a nice accessory bundle pack that comes with a variety of helpful extras, like a 1/8" splitter, so two headphones can monitor simultaneously, I think it comes with a dead cat (the fuzzy wind blocker [which actually works better than any of the other foam ones]) a fold-up tripod/handle, etc, and this accessory kit does come with the AC power cable. I keep fresh batteries in the recorder, though, so if something happens with the power cable, if the cable accidentally gets unplugged, or if there was a power surge, or something, that way it always has back up power when it's needed... and I keep extra rechargeable batteries and a charger with my recording kit, also (which I use a fanny pack, like one if the ones for hiking, that has a lot of pockets and stuff to keep everything organized and easily accessible; you never know when you're going to come across a sound you want to record and sample).... With the right conversion plugs, you can even power the H4n with a portable power bank, like that which is used for charging a cell phone (there's all kinds of neat little tricks to the H4n, watch all the videos you can find to learn about this stuff). But the H4n is an excellent 4 track recorder, and has a fabulous preamp for the price point, so it can achieve really clean recordings, for a digital handheld recorder. It's really nice for making custom samples, and can capture crystal clear podcasts, or it can just be uses to record ideas, digitally notate rhythms, melodies, etc... It makes for a very fancy journal.... So, all the extra stuff in the recording kit gets a little expensive, i mean it all adds up... The recorder itself is about $250 +tax, or with a few accessories (some package deals do come with an AC power cabel) for like $285 +tax... The primary accessory pack with the AC cabel, dead cat, splitter, USB cable ( so it can work as a digital interface for your computer), and an extended 1/8" male to male cable, that costs $50. A handle that screws into a shock mount and a dead cat are $40. A remote is $22. And a zip up case is like $15. And the fanny pack is like $20~... So that's about $585, +tax... so that's gonna be maybe close to $650-$700, at least, with the rechargable batteries, also... in order to have everything you need to be fully operational, and you'll still probably wind up adding more things to your recording kit, like external mics, stands, mic/instrument cables... at the end of the day, to have EVERYTHING so you're ready for any recording situation, it's probably gonna creep closer to $1000, but you can have a solid start at about $650-$700ish...

Does this come with everything a brand new in the box purchase would have? Meaning its cables, clear case, manual, batteries, etc.

Yes, it looked like it was a brand new package. Mine did at least.

Is anything included with the recorder, like the clear plastic case?

Yes. Clear plastic case was included. But not the flash memory card. So plan ahead for that. You won’t be able to record anything if you don’t have a storage card.

What specs on flash memory card will work. I had a couple already at the house, but they are not recognized by the uni?.

The standard SD card size you use in most DSLR's. The zoom H4n-pro only accepts 32GB & less memory cards. 16gb & 8gb work perfectly. Also I use SanDisk exclusively.
