Slow start, fast finish
The book starts off in classic Osho style and i admittedly was tempted to put it down. Instead, I read through the entire manuscript and was delighted with the outcome. It was uplifting, inspiring and we'll suited for today's reader.

Jump first, read the whole book later
Excellent introduction to meditation and Osho's teachings. I would recommend to start with Vipassana page 69 and jump to page 216 and finish the book. Later you can read the whole book.

Super book
Spirituality is now bouncing back into mainstream life. This book provides an excellent foundation for the non initiated in order to understand what the journey to Spirituality would be like. No one says it better than Osho

This book is quite emotionally abusive (using the power of words, communication)
I purchased this book to get some insight into the wide range of meditation techniques that are out there. After reading approximately 30% of the book, I started feeling very uneasy. The author writes a lot of statements without justification, throws insulting words around as if they are normal and common sense, and the general feeling is that of being tricked, and brainwashed about my own existence as a human being. The author presents contradicting beliefs, such as "Trust your instinct, because it is pure", then a few pages later he says something different "Don't mix techniques, just don't. Don't change the techniques". So basically the author is saying to trust your instincts, but don't at the same time...The general attitude is very much along the lines of "I am an enlightened person, therefore I know how to live life better. I have access to ultimate truths, and you can too, if you do exactly what I say"What's even more disturbing is that the author tries selling that point that your mind will resist x and y (related to his teachings). Further, the author keeps referring to society in a conspiracy-like way: "Society doesn't want you to be an individual. Society does this and that to you". These 2 techniques are used by cults when recruiting people. They engage some strong form of self-distrust and 'everything else'-distrust, so that one is left with only one choice: the teachings of the cult (based on promising access to deep truths about life, etc). The dogmatic approach of the author of this book is quite dangerous especially when one feels vulnerable emotionally or mentally.Another observation I would like to make is that, the author claims to have achieved some form of enlightenment and says "only when you love yourself you can share love in the world". I am not really sure if the author realizes how unkind he is being by writing this book in the narcissistic, patronizing and aggressive way it is written as. He talks about learning to swim by having some other "enlightened" person push him in the water. And that he pushes people in the "water of life" to learn how to "swim" in it. Wow. How abusive this is. Who does he think he is, knowing what's best for me, for anyone reading this book? Who made him the judge of whether I want to be pushed in the "water" or maybe I want to be held kindly and lightly by a friend (or any person who seems to care that I am a human being) in the water, as I learn to swim.I would not recommend this book, and my general feeling when reading this book is "I refuse being treated inhumanely, and I am sad that other people will feel the same because of this book. I want my money back".

No-mind is absolutely a pure sky without any clouds.
The text in this book, apart from the descriptive text written by the editors, is selected from various discourses by Osho given to live audience over a period of more than thirty years .It is a practical guide to Osho meditations. Everything about meditations, especially about Osho meditations is available in this book. Suggestions for beginners, different methods/ techniques in meditation, obstacles to meditation etc. are detailed in this book. Detailed descriptions are also there in the book about Osho active meditations, such as Dynamic meditation, kundalani meditation. Nataraja meditation and Nadabrhama meditation.Osho says to Drop the old ideas of meditation - that just sitting underneath a tree in a yoga posture is meditation. That is only one of the ways, and it may be suitable for a few people but it is not suitable for all.. In Osho’s words ‘Meditation is a quality, it can be brought to anything . It is not a specific act.So if you can keep alert, any activity is meditation.Walking, walk slowly, watchfully. Looking, look watchfully, and you will see trees are greener than they have ever been. Listen, listen attentively. When you are talking, talk attentively. Let your whole waking activity become deautomatized.’ Whatsoever you do with awareness is meditation. Meditation helps you to grow your own intuitive faculty.Meditation is witnessing. To meditate means to become a witness.Osho also says that techniques / methods are just to bridge the gap. Methods are dangerous only if one is unaware, otherwise they can be used beautifully.Buddha used to tell a story again and again: Five idiots passed through a village carrying a boat on their heads. They said ‘We cannot leave this boat. This is the boat that helped us to come from the other shore to this shore. We will carry it on our heads in sheer gratitude’.It is just a raft to be used and discarded, used and abandoned, used and never looked back at again; there is no need, no point Methods and techniques are just like this raft which one should be aware enough to abandon, on reaching the other shore. Osho’s responses to questions about meditation are included in the last part of the book. A few of his observations:Tears will take out all the agony that is hidden inside you and laughter will take all that is preventing your ecstasy.Whereever sinners go, they create hell and whereever saints go, they create heaven. If someone else can make you happy and unhappy, you are not a master. You are just a slave. This book will definitely serve as a useful guide for all those who are interested in meditation.
