Q: Is this the same light that sells for $149.00 on the surefire home page?

Yes, it is. I just ordered the same light from B&H Photo for $139.00 with free shipping.

Q: Has anyone tried any rechargeable batteries in this?

I use rechargeable li ions in nearly every Surefire I've owned, in the military and out. From Scouts to Invictus. The only Surefire light I only use primary batteries is in one of my Surefire mini Scouts, the reality is that there is no Cr123 rechargeable with a runtime that's worth using, or I'd be using it. I've NEVER had an issue using lithium ion rechargeables in Surefire, and have been doing so for decades. -Retired aviation engineer.

Q: Is the head removable to swap out light engines or are you stuck with what you got? For example, can you install a lumens factory head for a e1e head

Yes the Head and Tailcap...can be removed. Gives you the ability to swap out heads and tail caps onto other Surefire bodies..

Q: Can light beam blind/disorient from a few feet? asking as this light does not have tir lense.

On the high setting in low light conditions, (where most of these situations occur) I think it can definitely disorient a person
