We had already owned a couple of their newer albums for awhile before taking our son to his first concert, Rammstein 2012, at the tender age of 15, and after doing so (FANTASTIC live show btw!) we realized that this band needed full representation in our household!I'm usually skeptical when it comes down to "first studio release" albums but am glad that this one, purchased last, gave us the perspective of their more "polished" work first. Herzeleid is an excellent example of a band that "has it right", right from the start. All the signature Rammstein sounds are there and not as unpolished as one might think! From Til's emphatic singing style, well forward drums, industrial keyboard riffs and electric guitar and bass licks that hit like the blast wave from an atomic bomb, everything that makes Rammstein Rammstein is fully developed in this first album... Songs like "Der Meister" and "Heirate Mich" could easily fit right at home on any of their later albums. Even "Seemann" already defined the acoustic guitar led ballads that some true Rammstein fans have come to love.For a new Rammstein fan Herzeleid will not disappoint... This IS Rammstein! For the unfinished collector this album is a *must have*.

Bought this Cd a couple weeks ago and it is still in really good condition. I did expect a different cover than what was given but I‘m not complaining. It also includes pictures.

I would dare to call this album a masterpiece. I have never heard anything with as much face-melting, skin-ripping power as this. Just when you think you're about to catch a break, they hit you even harder with the next song. Till's vocals are absolutely disgusting in the most wonderful of ways. The guitar riffs, while simple in their own Rammstein-ish way, are somehow the perfect union to the man's voice and they pound your face into the cement. Rammstein was that one in a million chance where everything comes together perfectly to create something so much better and unique than any one of the constituents. This album yields an audio experience that one must have before they die! Buy this album!

Bought this for my husband as a birthday gift, he loves it! States the sound quality is amazing

I received the more recent cover version of Heartache (Herzeleid), but several of the songs had French translations of the lyrics included in the notes. Maybe this recording was intended for the Canadian audience, instead of the U.S.? There was a small crack in the back of the case, but the contents were perfectly fine.Many of the songs on this album found their ways onto later recording compilations by Rammstein. Here, they sound so simplistic--almost bare-bones. I think if I'd heard this album first, I might not have explored any further. It was their later song, "Engel" that really caught my attention and got me interested in hearing more of the band.

Rammstein is a band with it's own unique sound, and their debut album Herzeleid showcases that beautifully! Rammstein is a unique mix of metal riffs, great bass, pounding drums,and synthesizers, and when you add Till Lindemann's deep, strong voice singing in German, it is pure perfection!The songs on Herzeleid are: Wollt ihr das Bett in Flammen sehen, Der Meister, Weißes Fleisch , Asche zu Asche, Seemann, Du riechst so gut, Das alte Leid, Heirate Mich, Herzeleid, Laichzeit and Rammstein.I was blown away by this album, Herzeleid is an 18 year old album and it sounds like nothing I have ever heard. You will become a Rammstein fan immediately after listening to this album, I know I have!!

So typically Rammstein. This is their first album and I love every inch of it! Classics like Du Riechst so gut, Ashe zu Ashe and Seeman jump right out of the album at you and the rest of the sdongs are all bonuses! Wollt ihr das Bett in flammen sehen, Der Meister, Weisses Fleisch, Das Alte Leid, Heirate mich, Herzeleid, Laichzeit and Rammstein fill out the rest of the list beautifully.
