and have tons of air space for excellent root growth
I live in Colorado so cannabis is legal here, so that's what I use these cubes for. Well, they are actually more conical in shape but they fit in square germination / cloning trays perfectly as well. I've bought these from the beginning of my germ / clone cycles and they work perfectly. Unlike rock-wool cubes that are irritating to the skin, you can handle these for hours and never experience an irritation to the skin. They are as soft as a wet sponge, hold plenty of water, and have tons of air space for excellent root growth.I know this sounds like hype, but I've used over 300 of these cubes, and I have had 100% germination / cloning rate. I use a heat pad under my 50 cube germ / clone tray, and put about a gram of root solution in a gallon of water and fill the tray. Then I spray the clones with a folier spray, put the 7 inch hood on the tray, and let it go. If using seeds, keep them in the dark until they sprout, or if cloning then keep a low watt grow light over the clones 24/7 until you see roots starting to come out of the cube. Then either veg your plants for a bit, or move them directly to flower mode for SOG(sea of green). All of this can be googled and you too can grow great plants, or just e-mail me and I'll help you out.Either way I clone all my mother plants for twice the numbers I need, then I pick the best growing plants to keep, and sell my excess to friends and family. I've never had a plant not seed, or clone properly, so I will continue to use this product. And don't get me wrong, even though the majority of my grows are cannabis plants, I also grow tomatoes, peppers, peas, cucumbers, basil, cilantro, parsley, lettuce, and a few other garden salad type plants in these cubes too. I run a DWC (deep water culture) type of hydroponics, typically known as RDWC and bubble ponics. It's basically a top fed DWC and I can attest to shaving off about 2 to 3 weeks of growing time from seedling to harvest. Or clone to harvest is even a bit quicker. Just keep a mother plant or two around to take cuttings from and you'll never have to buy seeds again, and you can make your own seeds if you want.Either way, a great product, highly recommended, and I will be buying these for a long time!!!

I have several half used bags of plugs that will never be used because the quality is very poor. Root Riot plugs are well made a
I have been cloning for decades and have tried just about everything you can think of. Since these type of plugs have been available I have tried several brands. I tried some slightly lowered price generics as well as other premium cubes. Most of the plugs made have stem holes that are too large for most cuttings. The holes must be tight on the stem in order to promote efficient rooting. Loose fitting plugs often fail to root all together. There is no savings in that. I have several half used bags of plugs that will never be used because the quality is very poor.Root Riot plugs are well made and the stem holes are consistently small. I have over 95% success with this plug. Most others are less than 70% successful even with modifications or cutting a new hole. The quality just isn't there. With that being said...... Root Riot plugs are my plug of choice.

didn't work well for me
Was great for the germination stage but once my plants sprouted and started to grow I had symptoms of over watering, the moisture level 3 inches from the plant were dry to medium but the root riot was constantly wet. After 2 weeks of halted growth and dying primary leaves I had to literally operate, under low light, so my roots didn't get light damage I had to pull the root riot plug off of the root system and replant. 1/2 of the plants still arent doing well but the others started to come back after 5 days. I lost 3 weeks of grow time and I'm betting any plants that survive will now be stunted

Dry out way too fast
My plants are growing but I have to spend wayyyy too much time and effort watering because these pods dry out and harden daily. Open to suggestion if I am doing something wrong. Have indoor greenhouse, heat pad and light but I am spraying multiple times a day and taking out and dipping the whole pod in water almost every other day. I started with 72 and half died due to drying out.

Strong Root Growth
Great for clones, will also work for germination. They hold water really well and will show dryness early by turning light brown. Try and hit them with water before that for sure. The Roots seem to find a way out all four sides of cube or plug consistently. Really easy to transplant into soil or soilless mix. They stay moist in bag (sealed) for storage. They have a "spongy" like texture to them and the clones love em! There is also a small hole to place your clone or seed.

The easiest way to start seeds
These are really nice for starting seeds. They come moistened, so all you do is put the seed into the small slot. I like to put my cubes in those 9-slot seed starting inserts in the rectangular black trays. If you cover them to keep the moisture in, you literally don't have to check on them again until you see sprouts coming up. After they come up, you can put the plant, plug and all, right into whatever potting substrate you're using and go from there. I've had good success with these and will continue to use

Great for vegetables!
Root Riot is an excellent media for sowing seedlings, vegetable and other, insdoors or outdoors. I've started tomatoes, summer squash, cucumber, and lettuce with germination in half the time of peet bags or potting soil. The germination rate has also been much higher than the other methods. When transplanting to a larger container, be careful to bury the sponge material slightly below the soil line to support the seedling as much as possible. I would highly recommend!

Not worth purchasing!
This is the worst product for cloning. The pre cut hole was difficult to find. At least half of my clones perished. I bought this by accident. I thought it was the peat pellets. When it arrived I was of course stunned. Instead of returning the product I decided to use it. I’ve used the cloning jell & rooting solution before and it was an okay product. NOT this product!!!! I will NEVER use it again. I won’t ever recommend this product.

Highly recommend these saved me a fortune in seeds and time

Maybe request a review after I have had an opportunity to use the product?
