The Bold, Smoky Essential That Saves Your Pantry (And Your Wallet)
If you’ve ever been frustrated by opening a whole can of chipotles in adobo just to use one teaspoon, the Frontier Co-op Ground Chipotle Pepper is about to become your new best friend. This 25.8-ounce bulk size is a 5-star investment for anyone who loves that signature Mexican and Southwestern "kick." Made from dried, smoked jalapeno peppers, this powder provides a deep, earthy spiciness that is far more versatile than pastes or canned versions. It’s the kind of spice that makes people ask, "What is in this?" because the aroma is so intensely complex and rich. The value and shelf-stability of this bulk pack are unbeatable. Because it’s a dry powder, you don’t have to worry about waste; you just use exactly what you need, whether it's a tiny dash for morning eggs or several tablespoons for a big batch of chili. The 25.8-ounce container is essentially a lifetime supply for the average home cook, but it’s perfect for those who regularly make their own BBQ rubs, taco seasonings, or marinades. Plus, it’s Non-GMO, Non-Irradiated, and Kosher, which is consistent with the high-quality standards Frontier Co-op is known for. In the kitchen, the flavor profile is a perfect balance of medium heat and smoky sweetness. It adds a level of depth that regular chili powder or cayenne just can't match. I’ve found it works wonders in everything from savory sauces and soups to surprising sweet applications like Mexican chocolate desserts. It also makes an incredible dry rub for salmon or pulled pork. The only "danger" is that once you have this much on hand, you’ll find yourself putting it on everything—it's even great as a smoky popcorn seasoning! Overall, this is a definitive 5-star pantry staple. It’s sturdy, reliable, and way more cost-effective than buying those tiny glass jars at the grocery store every other week. If you want a consistent, high-quality smoky heat that won't go to waste in the back of your fridge, this bulk chipotle powder is the way to go. It’s the ultimate "secret ingredient" that makes home cooking taste like it came from a professional kitchen.

Worth It
This chipotle pepper powder is absolutely fantastic! The flavor is rich, smoky, and perfectly balanced with a gentle heat that enhances dishes without overpowering them. It adds depth to soups, stews, marinades, and even sprinkled over roasted vegetables. The quality is excellent, and you can really taste the freshness compared to cheaper alternatives. I have bought it a handful of times now, and it is one of my favorites!

BBQ Focused Review and Comparison
First of all, don't pay attention to reviews that confuse Chipotle Morita and Jalapeno. All Chipotle comes from Jalepeno. For simplicity; Chipotle Morita is a once smoked jalepeno and Chipotle Meco is a twice smoked jalepeno. I think that is what is confusing some people on taste. If you compare the 2 brands in my pictures, The Spice Way (TSW)is on top, the Frontier Co-op is on the bottom (plz don't pay attention to markings on the paper plate). You can clearly see the Frontier is much darker. The Spice Way is what I am used to seeing in other C.Morita brands and has a great flavor. The Frontier Co-op (FCO) is much smokier and much hotter. Not cayenne hot by any means but definitely spicier than your average Morita. FCO does not advertise to be a C.Meco but it is a lot closer to that flavor profile (it doesn't say it is a C.Morita either). Bottom line - They are both excellent and I think both have a place in your BBQ pantry. I'll probably gravitate to TSW for most of my family BBQ because my wife doesn't like a lot of spice but loves the flavor of Morita. I might sneak some FCO into her next rack of ribs just to be sure ;-). Personally, I like strong, smokey flavors and would opt more often for the FCO. It is quite expensive though. Both are good chipotles but with different flavor profiles.

Your secret ingredient
My wife is from the midwest, so her secret ingredient in her chili is cinnamon. But if you needed to count a different secret ingredient, it's this. She panics when she runs low and it makes sense to panic, as this imparts a subtle smokey and spicy flavor to the mix.

Smokey Chipotle
This Chipotle powder has a rich and smokey flavor that adds delicious layer of flavor not only to Mexican food, but also to soups and stews and meats and beans. This is a constant in my spice cabinet. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Consistent quality and freshness
First found this at whole foods when I bought it years ago, but no other bottle gives me this type of chipotle flavor that I like. The quality is really good I keep coming back. The blend, freshness, color are good, It's definitely pricier, but the bottle itself is glass, and therefore t for the value for money it's acceptable. I can trust it lasts a while.
