Great for the money. To be honest I wasn’t sure how I would like this recorder at first because the manual was a bit long and it didn’t feel intuitive; however, once I had the basics figured out it became super simple to use. Great play back quality of the files including the clarity of a recording approx. four feet from the speaker (I haven’t had an opportunity to use it in a microphone speaker situation). Great volume on the built in speaker. Having the built in rechargeable (via micro USB) battery has been great as I don’t have to carry around extra batteries like I have to for my older voice recorder and the built in makes for a very slim product. This recorder fits easily into a woman’s size pocket. And, quick shipping even though I don't have Prime.

I am not happy with the product. The Powbacksy Digital Voice Recorder - 16GB Voice Recorder Voice Activated Recorder with Playback Tape Recorder stop working after two weeks. I didn't get the value I wanted. This made my study difficult at school and made me unhappy.

Picks up A LOT of background noise. Makes it hard to listen to later

I purchased this recorder for a grandson to record his school lectures. He found it to work much better for him than using his cell phone. The sound quality is much clearer even when he records from the back of a lecture hall. It is also easier to activate, pause and stop the recordings. Having a record button on the front rather than the side prevents accidentally turning it off in mid lecture.There is also ample storage space for taping. The buttons are easy to activate making rewinding to repeat part of the lecture a quick task.Battery life is very good. It recharges easily with a USB connection.The recorders fits well in a backpack, fanny pack or purse.He and I both recommend this recorder for others whether for school or work projects.

I wish I could send it back. It has instructions thar are tooooo to,NY to even read. I am left with a tiny machine and no way to read how to use it .... Grrrr

It does everything it says it does in the description but the tape starts over if you accidentally bump the fast forward or rewind button. There is no way to skip through half of the of a conversation or voice memo without holding the button down. God forbid you hit a button and the whole thing starts over. I think I'm going to be returning it.
