Simply genius and a must buy.
After having read this book, I could not hold myself back from writing this review. This edition is enriching and lucid. I could understand the process of transforming into a character through Method Acting, as it is called. The simple things are also the most extraordinary things, not everyone can appreciate the beauty that lies in simplicity. This book reflects true passion of the author for this art. This edition delves into practical nuances of theatre and is really a must buy for any aspiring actor. Well done Prakhar Gautam.

Prakhar Gautam fails at every attempt to be considered remotely close to a writer
I write this review as a customer to voice my opinion on the quality of the product which cost me ₹300/- of my money. With this review i wish to help the other hopeful individuals who have stumbled upon this page to get a true insight of this product against the other reviews which are questionable in the identity of their sources. In his 58 pager handbook, (yes it isn't 72 pages long. That's a lie!) 'Acting As A Way Of Life' where the tagline states - 'A Handbook on How To Act - For Beginners as well as for Professionals', the author mentions about the various aspects involved in the process of an actor. Prakhar Gautam is correct at times with his concepts but that's really it. I do believe any beginner of this field would be interested in the concepts mentioned in the book but these can be easily found on the internet with an informed search which makes the ₹250/- plus ₹50/-(delivery) charge seem pointless. At a mere 58 pages this is the shortest read i have done of a published book (although it felt like the longest and the hardest). I had started the book with optimism, soon falling into dissapointment and ending it with an exhausting grief, as i missed my already spent 300 bucks. As for professionals this handbook offers absolutely no valuable gain that one could take away in stride. The author showcases his lack of experience as a theatre actor and director as he fails to identify the real problems an experienced professional actor faces in his/her journey. Prakhar Gautam who claims to have trained more than 70 first time actors has never trained or perhaps even conversed with a 'professional' for whome his handbook is supposedly helpful in his own words. This assumption becomes obvious with every turn of the page.Throughout the chapters, every topic is mentioned and then it's details skipped without ever being clear to the reader. His pointers are useless and big words plenty but again of no use. Prakhar who has decided to take up the challenge of the literary form of expression is left in a pile of embarrassing moments. His draft is literally incomplete. Some of the most humorous moments happen when you see the absence of apunctuation mark (yes he missed out on full-stops and commas) and the numerous times he misuses prepositions and nouns to sound interesting. I kept questioning myself for the purpose of these mistakes, 'Are they an ingenious brain's imaginative wordplay (like Anthony Burgess with 'A Clockwork Orange') or a simple amateurish effort which fails to interest the reader at any imaginable level? I went for the latter.Prakhar Gautam fails at every attempt to be considered even remotely close to a writer as he fails the very language in which he chose to publish his book. I do hope to one day bring forward to the world the 'high acclaim' which he claims for his theatrical productions, for that matter, all the 70 actors he claims to have trained. Such an act would tarnish Prakhar Gautam's hypocritical legacy (if any) but would at the very least stop him from any further embarrassment (like this handbook) and give this lost boy an insight into the truth which he sorely chooses to ignore.

If you have the spark go for it.
A good introduction to the concepts of acting. You must have the talent to be a successful actor though ; no book can make you an actor just by itself but this book can provide you with an excellent start. This would inspire you to go deeper into the thing, so to speak. The author's energy and enthusiasm is sure to rub on the readers.

Just what an actor needs.
Amazing source of knowledge on acting. Great for beginners and and very informative for professionals as well. This is just what you need to know exactly what the art of acting is all about and how it is done. Cheers to the author for the brilliant work.
