Works so quickly
My dog has loads of dietary issues and often ends up with a bad tummy and loose stools. My vet recommended Protexin Veterinary Pro-Kolin Advanced, and honestly, it’s been a lifesaver. Within just a few hours of giving it, his stools firm up and he’s back to himself again. I used to be running to the vet constantly for this problem, but now I just keep a tube in the cupboard and reach for it whenever it’s needed. The price isn’t bad at all, and when you think about what you’d spend on repeated vet visits, it’s totally worth it. My dog’s a really fussy eater, but he actually loves the taste of this—he licks it straight off my hand! On the rare occasion he doesn’t fancy it, it’s really easy to give, so no hassle there either. Honestly, I wouldn’t be without this paste now. It’s effective, easy to use, and gives me real peace of mind knowing I’ve got it on hand for when his tummy plays up.

Excellent stuff!
Brilliant stuff along side trickle feeding to resolve dog’s upset stomach. Vet nurse advised trickle feeding- feed normal food and normal daily amount but split it into very small portions fed over 6 or 8 meals. Feed ours 600g a day so split it into 100g meals fed 6 times a day. Resolved the issue very quickly but carried on with this feeding and the Pro-Kolin for 3 days after. Slowly built the meals back up to normal feeding.

Worked quickly
Before using this, I tried a similar product that had been recommended by the pet shop. That mad the upset tummy worse. After two applications, the stomach had calmed and my dog was completely back to normal after 5 applications. Have purchased some for future use.

Not A Complete Solution
A decent enough product but not instantly effective, my experience is that stools begin to improve after a couple of days but as I adopt a different feeding regime as well that is probably also having an effect. Would recommend any concerned owner to persevere with a period of starvation followed by meals consisting of something bland like boiled chicken & boiled rice - small & frequently for sickness but slightly larger in size and once or twice per day for bouts of diarrhoea (provide plenty of clean fresh water) BUT NOT AT THE COST OF NOT SEEING A VET IF SYMPTOMS PERSIST. Other products such as Bob Martin's tablets kind of work for my dogs as well. You know your pet, no need to keep making your vet rich by visiting him/her if the pet has mild symptoms but equally don't take risks just in order to save a few quid.

Works well
My dog had a gastro bug. This sorted it out in no time. Her stools went back to normal within 24 hours. Good to keep some as backup.

6 dogs with diarrhoea - what a nightmare!
I was contemplating putting all 6 in the car and driving to the vet, notwithstanding that 2 of them hate the car and throw up as soon as we start moving. Not wanting to put them through the trauma of travel & going to the vet led to me doing some hard thinking. I recalled that years ago one of my dogs had had similar issues, but a lot more extreme, and the vet had prescribed this. So I ordered this, fasted them for 24 hours (by which time this had been delivered) and gave them this together with mini meals of bland chicken & rice. A few days later and they are back to normal. It isn’t cheap, but it works. Of course you need to seek veterinary assistance if the diarrhoea is extreme - it isn’t a replacement for a vet visit on those occasions.
