what is the gigahertz range on this?

Comment to "Writer & Mom of Four", The range is 5 Hz (5 cycles) up to 3.5GHz (that is 3,500 Hz. It does not go up to 5 GHz so it can not detect the 5G Wifi (widely used). Probably misses many microwave signals too. Lots of electronics radiate at over 3.5GHz. This is a modest device for consumers but not for demanding environments.

Why is this model so much less money than all the other models?

I thought the same exact thing as you. The unit is so inexpensive I figured i would give it a try and only spend more on a higher model if it did work well. But it appears to work pretty well. I can't verify it's accuracy but the readings are around what I expected for the devices I am using it on. I don't need highly accurate readings so it works for me!
