Chromebook
Easy to setup, screen very clear and easy to read, nice touch screen. Easy setup and account sync. Nice quality of the device material, keys and mouse pad. Good battery life, good Wi-Fi response.

Does what I need it for
Very nice piece of equipment. I'm still getting useto the google operating system. I thought it ran windows but my mistakeI just use it primarily for study but it does just about everything else too. Probably could've got more computer for the money but I'm content. I wanted something with touch capabilities. All in all good purchase.

Good hardware, but problems with Kindle app
This Chromebook 2-in-1 was delivered in perfect condition, and took less than 3 hours to set up (mostly waiting for OS updates). Since then, it has proven (in the first few weeks) to be durable and reliable, and it is VERY fast compared to my previous Chromebook (a Samsung 2-in-1 which is several years old). The only thing that I miss from a hardware standpoint is a built-in stylus that can be used for pointing and selecting when the keyboard mousepad is disabled because the laptop is in tablet mode.HOWEVER, this machine (unlike my old Samsung Chromebook) has big problems running the Kindle reader app. The app startup is unreliable (often the app simply shuts down before getting to the main screen or shortly after it gets there. Worse still, I cannot consistently download ANY book in my library to read.I reached Amazon Kindle support about the latter problem and was on the phone for about 45 minutes with a very capable support person. I thought she had solved the problem (by deregistering and reregistering my device on Amazon), and I was able to download a few books while she was still on the phone. But then, after shutting down the laptop to have dinner, I got on it again and found that the problem had returned. It has continued since then (for about 3 days).Fortunately, there is a reasonable workaround: I can use "read.amazon.com" (a web-based implementation of the Kindle app) to read books in my library. That works fine (so far), but there are a few small features of the app that I miss, e.g. having a caption at the bottom of the page to tell me how many minutes I need to finish the current chapter of whatever book I am reading. But the basic problem with read.amazon.com is that it does not allow me to read books when I am not connected to the Internet -- because, of course, the books are not downloaded and stored on the Chromebook. Hopefully, I won't need to do offline reading very often.I think Amazon's support for the Kindle app on Chromebook platforms is deficient -- they treat the Chromebook as an Android device, which doesn't quite work. And the support person that I spoke to only became aware during our call that the Chromebook is viewed as Android rather than PC, which did not help to resolve my problem.

Major Design Flaw - Heat and no Vent
This was a good chromebook and I love the touch screen. I didn't think to check if it has a vent or any way to manage heat since chromebooks generally run pretty cool. This one runs hot and reminds me of some of the things I hate about microsoft. Task manager will show an overwhelming number of processes running, it gets hot and there is no fan or way for the heat to vent out. It runs a snails pace, including powering up.It gradually went from the typical quick start up but has deteriorated over the last six months. The left back will get so hot it burns my legs and then I have to shut it down. After 16 months the battery will only hold about a three hour charge. Replacement batteries are expensive and I resent having to hire "Geek Squad" just to consult with HP on the problem. I don't think Chromebooks are HP's best product. Chromebooks have been durable and reliable. I've bought several for a small business and personal use over the years. Acer, Asus and Lenovo are brands that have been fine. $300 down the drain because I splurged on some bells and whistles on this one. The only reason I replaced my old one was the EOL update problem.

My HP Chromebook
It performs great, but I wished the battery last a little longer.

Good for the price!
Loving my new touch screen computer.Has great battery life.Screen resolution is not that good. But for what I’m using it for it suffices.Amazon recent removal of a social media platform that promoted Freedom of Speech more closely-aligned with the inherent rights recognized in the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Because of this poor executive decision, I will no longer be shopping on Amazon or utilizing any of their subscription services. Please politely let Amazon know that you disagree with their decision, and also consider suspending your monetary activities until Amazon changes its policies to promote and protect new digital avenues that seek to honor the inherent rights of Free Speech protected in the US Constitution.Thank you and feel free to follow to help build the underground Amazon Free Speech Coalition!
