Does what it says on the tin
This is a great bit of kit, at a good price.I bought it has I needed to increase the size of the boot drive, a M.2 NVMe SSD, in my PC. I used this device to connect to one of the PCs USB ports to transfer the original image of the disk using Samsung Magician. It worked a treat, when I installed the new SSD in the PC it booted up straight away with no issues. This device now contains the original SSD which I'm using for temporary/portable storage.I already owned a UGreen product, a USB Multifunction Adapter. I was so impressed with this product that when I needed a M.2 NVMe enclosure I looked no further than UGreen.

I wish the models in their range of caddies were more distinct from each other
It's very hard to tell which model of drive caddy from Ugreen is better for your purposes because they don't offer direct comparisons of them all. As far as I can tell this one doesn't support SATA drives but other, cheaper ones do support them. What other features are different between them, I can't tell easily enough to make my purchasing decision simple. I really want to know if one is the cheapest and least flexible, another has amazing impact resistance but is otherwise only as fast as another model, and another only supports niche drives - or really, whatever the actual reason for buying each, rather than another model they sell is.Regardless, it's a good caddy that's easy to use and as long as it supports your drive and you only need 10Gbps for that, I believe it should be fine for most users. I use these caddies to access old drives that I took out when I upgraded a PC. The alternatives are to recycle or sell the old drive which aren't great ways to recapture value. I think using it as a backup drive for a while (not long term backup, but moving files) is a better use case for an NVME you've taken out of your desktop for some reason. It's a tool less design so it's quick to put a drive in and you don't need to do anything to access it in Windows you should just be able to plug it in. If their chart of comparison models below actually included this one and all their drives and the pricing structure also made it super clear which was which and why're you're paying more, I'd give it five stars.

Great little device
Upgraded the M.2 drive in my laptop and used this to clone the data onto the new drive. Now I have the old drive in the enclosure which I use as a removable storage drive.Very fast transfer speeds via USB C too

Looks nice but doesn't work
It doesn't work. I contacted tech support. They redirected me to Amazon support. I sent a request but got no response. I lost my money.

Low cost Premium NvMe drive enclosure.
Low cost Premium NvMe drive enclosure.Ordered to go with a NvMe SSD i have laying around this enclosure shows how good quality can be when the correct materials are used. having a plastic tray that the SSD attaches to and then covered in an aluminium anodized outer shell does make this on stand out and even morso when you consider this against other offerings at under £21.This really does feel solid in the hand, you are provided a screwdriver and a thermal gel pad should you wish to use for better thermal dissipation to the outer case, however do feel the pad is a bit of a gimmick as it wouldn't really make contact with the outer shell that is not flat. there is a micro LED on the port side to show it is powered up and accessing data. the very short lead as supplied comes with USB C only on each end, it would have been nice for there to have been an integrated USB a adapter for easier backwards compatibility.Have also tested this on an iPhone & iPad and connects perfectly.Transfer rate wise this was found to be very close will be used now for my iMac as a time capsule so will be very useful.Very easy way to expand storage and have a huge portable drive to hand, a 5 star product.
