A must have tool for refrets
I've been a StewMAX member for years, meaning I pay extra to get free shipping from Stewart Macdonald's official website. Sometimes I get exclusive deals, but I've NEVER see this item as cheap as it was here on Amazon. I'm sort of disappointed my Amazon Prime membership does better than StewMAX, but this was an item I had on my list for years and never pulled the trigger. It works just as described, and it's helping me a lot with my first fret job. I've been winding pickups for 10 years, and have been doing fret levels for a few years, so doing a refret is my next step. Having the right tools goes a long way, and this seems to be a must-have tool.

A must have for fret work
Works perfectly and easy to use. No damage at all to the edge. Definitely worth the money glad I decided to buy it instead of the cheap chinese stuff.

Quality Investment
When you’re working on someone’s heirloom guitar it is nice to know you are using a quality tool and not something you hope will do the job. StewMac has never let me down. Strongly recommend.

Does a good job. Don't use the supplied allen wrench.
The tool itself works well. Technically I've only used it on stainless steel fret, but I'm assuming it would work just fine on other fret materials. My only complaint is the supplied allen wrench is the wrong size and will eventually strip out the retainer bolt.

A good fret tang nipper
it cuts very clean and close to to bottom of the fret surface, as it should. Not 100% perfect, but very good. I've been comparing and contrasting these nippers to other older nippers that are very worn, and I can't say they are entirely worth the cost, but SM does offer great customer service if something would fail in the future. That said, my 15year old nippers are still working well, just worn, but they also cost $15 at the time. These new SM nippers to cut stainless tangs a bit easier than my old set, and I had no issues with hand fatigue, but that will be a personal issue. Many folks have commented about getting their hand pinched by these nippers, I have not had that issue, but again that may be a very individual issue depending on hand size and plumpness.Good fretting to you!

Great tool. Did the job.
Works great with little effort. Very smooth and quality. Just mind placement of fret, because It will snip whatever is in the snipping zone.
