I noted the reviews that said something along the lines of "you get what you pay for." My experience is as follows:- I received the controllers, hooked them up to a raspberry pi emulator, and tested the units- The units worked, but performance was unpredictable and inconsistent- I reached out to the vendor (kiwitata). The vendor responded fairly promptly, and sent replacement controllers.- The replacement controllers worked much better, and we've had no issues with them.To sum up, I appreciated the vendor's effort to resolve the issue promptly.Following is the vendor's email response:Dear Adam, Thanks for your contact. And we apologize for the inconvenience caused to u. We’ve contacted you on Aug 13 and hope to solve this issue after we saw your 3 star feedbacks on Amazon. But message undelivered. Yes, the D-pad seems defective.We are willing to re-send one set to you for replacement free of charge. You are also not need to return the defective ones. The new set has been improved by our factory. Please see attached controller printed “Kiwitata” logo. The appearance of the controllers is the same with the one you got. But it is not the same. The improved one is made of new mold and the one you buy that is made of old mold. The difference between the two is: 1. Materials are not the same. The material of the new one is ABS. Good gloss, especially A B button. 2. The new one will be more texture. It is a little bit heavier than the old one. High quality feel. 3. The new version button function is more accurate, faster response. 4. The main difference is the electronic components inside the circuit board are not the same. The functional modules have been improved. We will not let disappointed again. The tracking number will be provided to you tomorrow. I use these for gaming on a Raspberry PI. They work great and all the buttons feel nice when pressing them.

We all know exactly what these SNES-like USB game pads are for.I've owned and played a SNES since I was 4, I still have an original SNES controller and I use it a lot, so I'm intimately familiar with how the genuine article looks and feels. By comparison, the kiwitata model feels slightly more rigid and less prone to flexing or bending, the surface feels smoother or slicker, it's slightly darker in color, the shoulder buttons are a bit mushier, and the face buttons stand a bit taller. It's enough to catch me out sometimes, unless I manage to get properly immersed in a game. It's better than playing with the keyboard though.Oddly enough, when I first plugged them in, the computer didn't recognize them. I rebooted the machine, and it still didn't see the game controllers. I thought one might be dead on arrival, so I swapped to the other one, no joy. I rebooted the machine again, and lo and behold they've been working fine ever since. Computers, amirite?

No input lag, feels good and sturdy in the hand. Bought to use on my media pc to play old snes games and instantly works. Tested on Linux Libreelec.

Both controllers felt nice in my hands and connected to my computer without issue. I didn't have to manually configure the controller with my emulator of choice either (I use BizHawk). Having a backup is also nice in case I feel like playing 2 player games with someone. But as it stands currently, I have one at my desk and the other on a shelf for display.

I did not grow up owning a SNES, so I have less frame of reference than someone who may have played countless hours on an official controller; that being said, I can't tell the difference from what I remember on official hardware and these controllers. They may not be the highest quality, but for the price, they are exactly what I needed, and work perfectly with my Raspberry Pi.I did end up with one controller that had some minor defects in the plastic, but I contacted Kiwitata and they immediately sent me a replacement. I am absolutely thrilled with the customer support for this product!

The media could not be loaded. The video demonstrates the D pad shift that may or may not be related.These controllers hurt my thumb padding really bad, even after playing only 2 (fast paced) levels of super Mario world. I hardly use them because of that. Im realizing I never had this problem as a kid, it might be the controller. It takes forever to heal, worse than guitar strings callouses.They click fine but perhaps it just requires too much pressure. The d pad is a hard material as well. Sounds obvious but I think my original controllers were a bit softer corner radius and more rubbery material. There is also a shifting as I show in the video. I don't think that's how the original was, I usually remember the little things like that as a kid. My memory as it does a rocking motion and had no shift.Plugs and plays smoothly with emulators on windows.

*Updated Review*Spoke with customer service regarding the non-functioning controller. They were extremely responsive and supplied a replacement asap, which is an awesome working controller. Tested both separately in the same PC usb slot and other available usb slots. The functioning controller is great and has a responsive feel, unfortunately, would rather have 2 working controllers. Otherwise, still a good product for emulators etc.

PROS:They look really good.Great price.Fast shipping, though arrived a day late.Plug and play with my Raspberry Pi 3 and Retropie 4.1.CONS:The USB cord is very, very short.The game pads feel very light and cheap.There is a slight input lag that makes some classic platformer style games nearly impossible to enjoy.SUMMARY:Good game pads if you don't mind buying extra USB extension cables and can deal with a little input lag. Would work well sitting at your PC.I cannot rate any higher due to my experience with them, I would not buy them again.Update Jan 12, 2018: The seller shipped me two new controllers for free. After a few hours of play time the new controllers seem to be much more responsive. I played through Batman for NES, a game with zero forgiveness for input lag. Good product, great customer support.

I use these to play specific games on my PC from time to time. Have had zero issues so far. Seem to be durable.

Been using the controllers since 2017, on and off, about 3-4 times per year. Work as intended. In 2024, starts been glitchy on the Y button.Ok if you want to play SNES games

These controllers work very nicely for the price they are sold for. All of the buttons are responsive and it fits in the hand like a normal SNES controller. I haven't had any issues with input lag. The start and select button require less pressure than my real SNES controllers, which is nice. This is a good deal if you're looking for two SNES usb controllers. This company also offers very good customer support and if you're having any issues with the product they'll sort it out with you very quickly. There's really no way to go wrong with these!The controllers are a bit lighter than a real SNES controller, but it does not affect gameplay at all, and it's actually something I kind of like about them. The wire for the controllers is not very long, so you won't be able to play from very far away from your console.Overall the controllers are good and the customer service is great, I would definitely recommend them

These are amazing and work well. I didn't realize they have to be set up for the game I want to play but they work awesomely!!
