Amazing for adults too!
Im 28 years old and returning to school. I got my GED when I was 16, after dropping out in the 9th grade. Safe to say it's been a while since I've needed to know how to multiply a fraction, or find the LCM. I have to take assessment exams before entering college, and while I'm great in every other subject I've always struggled with math. This book has been my best study tool! I wish it had existed when I was in middle school. Finally, everything all the teachers and tutors where trying to teach me makes sense. This book explains things in such a way that it just clicks. I've aced every quiz it has to offer on the first try, because everything is covered so well without all the added jumbo you get from normal textbooks. I just took my first practice test today for the assessment, and I got a score of 91% on the math portion! I'm now seriously wishing they offered college algebra (hopefully in the future). The part I like best is this can be helpful to adults in other ways too. I gave the book to my sister in law, and she's using it to help herself help my nephew with his homework. Honestly, knowing now how helpful this book is, I would pay triple the price in a heartbeat. It's more than worth the current price tag. If anything it's a steal. Now that I'm done gushing I'll give some more details. The book is divided into 6 units. Each unit has anywhere from 5 to 20 chapters. Those chapters are ordered in such a way that the knowledge slowly builds. So you barely even realize what it is you're learning to do. And you don't have to skip around all over the book to solve one problem. The chapters are usually short as well (5 pages, give or take) which is great because you feel like you're flying right through it. Then each chapter ends with a 10 problem quiz covering what you just learned. On the back side of this quiz is the answer key. Which doesn't just list the answers, but also explains WHY it's the correct answer. The whole thing reads exactly like the amazing notes I used to borrow from the class math whiz. It feels more like a cheat sheet than a work book or text book, to be honest. Like someone took math and thought, "how can I make this easy for anyone to understand?" And the result was this book. It's of good size and weight. I mention this because I have literally so many books I carry to the library where I study each day, that it takes two bags. They're dang heavy, but luckily this book barely added any weight at all. Making it perfect for transporting from school to home, and back again.Even better, it is a medium cover. Not paperback, but not your typical rock solid hard cover either. It has some bend to it, which for me made taking notes in a smaller space (like a tiny library desk) easier. 🤷♀️All in all, it's a fantastic book. I plan on buying the rest of the collection because, hey, why not? If knowledge is power, these little puppies are the key.

Good, bought a few subjects.
I like the structure of it. Detailed yet simple. Provides examples then lets you do problems. Colorful and straight forward. If you have adhd you might be slightly overwhelmed by it since it has alot going on. But I like it.

The BEST math reference book EVER!!!!
*******UPDATE 2020*********I LOVE this book!!! This book has helped refresh my memory so I can help both my middle school and high school kids with their math. All of my big kids are using this book as a reference whenever they have questions now! Thanks to Covid-19 my kids are stuck home with me learning virtually. Since I am right next to them all day, I am the person they come to with math questions. I haven't used middle school (or high school) math in FOREVER so I found myself needing to google equations to refresh my memory. If you haven't googled algebraic equations recently, best of luck! There are so may different equations I would have to sort through to find the one I was looking for. Finally, I remembered purchasing this book for my daughter last year. I asked her if she still knew where it was and if I could borrow it for a quick refresher lesson. This book was the ONLY book on her desk. Apparently, my use of the book is the first time it has left her desk area. She finds this book so useful that she is very concerned about losing it (she is the most disorganized child I have, despite my efforts to help her be organized).Anyway... I started flipping through the book and was amazed! It is so clear and concise and easy to read. It is color coded to make navigating the book and each page easier. It is written in a very easy to understand manner so you don't get lost in the words before you figure out the math. It teaches without being complicated and it is brief enough to be a great reference. This book has helped refresh my memory so I can help both my middle school and high school kids with their math.*******PREVIOUS REVIEW*******I purchased this math book for my daughter when she was struggling in 7th grade math. She referred to it quite often at first but, with the way this book is set up, the information started really sinking in and making sense and she needed to refer to it less and less. By the end of the year she was using this book as a reference book for when she got stuck on odd or very difficult equations. This is one of the very few books that she keeps track of (even over the summer!). I would highly recommend to anyone with a middle schooler!!
