Decent sound if you have a decent deck
Decent sound but not as good as chrome but for the price very good. Maxells tapes have a great reputation for lasting for years, I know one was tested or up to 1000 plays and it still sounded the same no loss of quality so you get great quality for the price. If you can get hold of the chrome version they are even better if your deck supports them. Highly Reccomended.

As good today as they've always been!
I used to buy these in the 90's and 2000's for basic home recordings and these seem identical in every way. The recording quality is just as good.

Good Quality When Used On A Proper Tape recorder.
These tapes are good quality, I'm using, for now, a GEC Stardeck R9002H, nothing fancy, just an old radio I got off Ebay for a tenner and was pleasantly surprised at how good tapes can actually sound. My kids love making recordings on tapes, I got a Retekess TR606 here on Amazon but the recordings on that are really bad compared to the old GEC Stardeck R9002H, the Retekess TR606 audio is muffled and has a lot of Hiss, the Stardeck has a bright, crisp and clear audio without the massive amounts of hiss from the Retekess TR606.Anyway, these tapes are good, at least for voice. I have not tried recording from the Radio or CD yet.

Good, but depends on what batch you receive.
I have bought a batch of inferior tapes, which upon recording lose the right channel on side A and loss of signal on side B. I also hear knocking sounds of the tape shell on the recording! Pictured on the left side is a tape with good quality tape stock (different batch) and on the right is the matt, low quality tape stock. These will be returned, as they are not cheap and i will not record onto something with rubbish quality.
