I umed and ared about a safety razor and to be honest, i won't be looking back!This is easy to put together, you get a pack of blades with it too. I've read about going slowly and having to shave differently to usual but actually I haven't noticed much difference in my technique and I didnt need to go much slower. I have nipped myself a couple of times but only the same way I would with any other razor.Does give a nice clean shave, and I haven't found any areas it doesn't work or glide well on.I didn't purchase the holder or anything extra as I didn't want to spend too much and not get on with it but I think I will purchase the extras next time.

Well made, and comes with a packet of 5 high quality blades (although bear in mind that means you'll have to be home to receive it, which is a pain). As a safety razor, it's a nice balance of ease of use with aggression - it's a medium, and can be made a bit more 'aggressive' by using sharper blades if desired. Critically, although I like the heft - it's definitely on the heavy side - the handle is quite slim, and I think I'd probably prefer something a bit thicker - I've got big hands with long thin fingers. It's not a deal breaker though. All in all, for about 13 quid, it's something of a no-brainer. Gillette have obviously used their economies of scale and deep design experience to deliver a razor that's going to be hard to beat at anywhere near the price. Unless you're a hobbyist or have some very specific requirement, just buy one of these. It looks very pretty too!

Tremendous value for money and great razor

My daughter and I both just got this razor - it is great! Far less nicks than last razor/blades we had.

The quality of the metal is very high, as advertised, but the shave isn't particularly close - even after three run throughs I still have a touch of stubble.

Great razor i always buy these they have a nice quality feel and weight to it and its easy to change the blades

Well packaged, in the box is a shiny razor and some razor blades.The razor itself is of reasonable weight, well made. There are 3 pieces and the top two disassemble from the handle. Thinking about it would have preferred a butterfly style.It does need to be given a rinse in water whilst shaving because it does get clogged up.This is a great razor for a quick and a reasonably close shave. Having said that, it's probably impossible to nick or cut yourself with this razor.Id say it is a mild to medium aggressive shave.Overall for the discounted price of £13 it's a bargain. Would recommend even at it's full price.
