Problem Resolved - Defective batteries
REVIEW CHANGED FROM 1 STAR to 5 STARItem works perfectly as advertised after replacing batteries. The batteries were were defective and too small so they popped out of the tray. That was the entire problem all along. That is why nothing worked. The batteries were 1-2 mm smaller. So this was defective batteries the manufacturer was getting rid of. If you have the same problem just replace the batteries and everything will work. It's a great item and does exactly as advertised. I use this with a real camera system and it looks great at night.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Electrical manufacturing defect. Battery tray defect. No circuit connection OR Defective night sensor. The unit is defective. It does not work in "minutes" as advertised. You must remove the back cover held by a screw to install the 2 batteries. The batteries immediately pop out - because the tray and connectors are defective. The batteries do not stay put with the cover on. There is no way to make the batteries stay in the tray. You could add glue on the batteries. But there is no anchor. And even when the batteries are held in with the unit there is no electrical connection. No red light. No green light. The only reason I purchased this is because there is a green night light on the keypad!I tried contacting the seller and there is no reply. I expect a replacement or refund to be issued immediately.

Keypad works great
I bought this for an added level of "security" in my house. I put it at my back door where it can be seen from the door's window. It has a flashing red light during the day and it lights green at night. I love that it requires two triple A batteries. It's also light enough that you don't have to make holes in your wall. You can use a 3M adhesive to hang it. The price is great too.

Looks good, but batteries included died after 3 hours
For a $7 cheap keypad device this looks great. I mounted it on the wall in my front entry, next to the door coming in the house from the garage. It blinks a red light during the daytime, then the keypad lights up green at dusk until dawn. I really don't think that the keypad light justifies the possible battery usage, it would be just as effective using a constant blinking red light in our application, but I will return to edit this review if the batteries die quickly. This is for a vacation home in an area without internet, and we aren't around for weeks at a time; I just hope that the batteries do last for at least several weeks.

These FAKE KEYPADS are built like CHEAP GARBAGE
The quality of work put into the simple battery insert is garbage. MILLIONS of us have inserted a triple AAA battery into an appliance, remote or whatever. I bought " 3 " of these pieces of garbage. Whoever designed these or put them together was a didn't care. Or they were put together by cheap labor, a toddler or a toddler suffering Parkinson's Disease. Like I said about MILLIONS of us over the years installing batteries into electronics - Very Simple, a spring holds and helps activate the battery with the spring pressure. I tried to install the batteries into 2 of these FAKE SECURITY KEYPADS - THE SPRINGS in the battery compartment DON'T line up, they're off center, they're sticking up. The ONLY way to have the batteries work properly is - to take it completely apart on a workbench with the proper tools and fix it. FIX what should have been sold as a quality product. I bought 3 of these @ $14.99 each - that's $44.97 NOT including TAX and MY TIME waiting for DELIVERY plus the TIME spent trying to get the AAA batteries to stay in this piece of crap because the springs were not installed properly. The only thing that would satisfy the time wasted with these 3 fake keypads i bought would be a refund and letting me smash them with a hammer. THEY'RE JUNK, CRAP. GARBAGE. I looked to see who its sold by? SOLD BY: Amazon.com Services Inc

Works well
Battery life was 4 months with 2 cheap AAA batteries. Occasional helper wouldnât go into shop without asking me to disarm the âalarmâ. Just installed the second set of batteries. Nothing has been missing since I put it on.
