Great gift for an introduction to mindfulness
This is a classic. Great introduction to mindfulness and meditaton. I did a retreat once with the author and he was fabulous. It's easily accessible with a set of teachings, followed by exercises that you can easily spread out to do daily or weekly. Great way to start, but you probably want to join an in-person class at some point to learn more and get the fellowship/motivation offered by a group. I found getting involved in the Shambhala meditation community was very good for both classes, friendliness, weekend trainings and occassional social events. When a friend or family member is struggling with something, I often give this book as a gift. Reciepients always say they find it helpful. Another good starter book on mindfulness is Pema Chodron's 'When Things Fall Apart.

Useful
I am picky about self help type books. I find some of the content of this book actually useful to complement my mindfulness/meditation as a beginner. I use a meditation app so for me this is more of a supplement to that. It’s not preachy or pretentious. It does quote “Walden” a lot though. You will likely find something in this book you can use. It’s easy to read. This book was recommended on a therapy website I came across.

This is It!
With nowhere to go and nothing to become, there is mindfulness. This is the present moment awareness that is weaved throughout this work of art that is a beautifully written book! I have new definitions for who I am in relation to life and I feel like living my truth that much more after reading this. For the wholeness of humanity.

so delighted to stumble upon this again!
I read "Wherever You Go, There You Are" many years ago and it had a great positive influence on me and others around me. The book went to a friend a long time ago and I just stumbled upon this fantastic sale in kindle format. I can't hold a book anymore so this was a fortuitous stumble. One thing I'll always remember: K-Z emphasized that we are part of the world and wrote something like, "When we change ourselves, we change the world."That sentence made me a calmer, happier and less judgemental person. I had tried to make the world a better place, My Way, and wanted others to change themselves. Now I demonstrate by words and deeds how I want the world to be and offer support for those who might want to do or think as I do. My personal space is now a wonderful place.
