What is the accuracy of this scale in grams?

It's not very accurate below a whole ounce. I just used some gram cubes I have lying around to test the scale. I've tested the cubes in the past with a postal scale for accuracy and found them to be exactly 1 gram each. Anything above 8 grams the scale will just round up to half an ounce or 0.5 ounces as it does not show grams. I started out with more than 28 grams to test the accuracy of 1 ounce and then kept taking a few off. I eventually put less and less cubes on the scale and I was still getting a reading of 0.5 ounces or half an ounce. In the end 8 grams or more consistently would give a reading of half an ounce even though it should take 14 grams to make half an ounce. I personally use the scale to weigh our daughter who has trouble gaining weight and I find this scale adequate. In fact it's the same scale her doctor has at the office. I only use it to measure pounds and whole ounces though.

Does this scale weigh in grams? Need a scale for lactation that weighs in grams. Does it weigh in 1 grams or 5 grams?

All Tanita scales we carry measure in pounds and kilograms. The Tanita BD-585 measures in 10gm increments.

How well does it work with a moving subject? I want to weigh babies on it and they don't stay still!

I weigh puppies and kittens on it and it works well. If to much movement have blanket to swaddle baby. Scale will 0 with blanket. I like the scale
