Always impressed by Adeept kits
This is a very high quality kit for the price. The Adeept web site, under "Learn", has a section for raspberry pi just look for the RaspTank. The amount of instructions to download is a lot. There are a lot of photos for the assembly and sample code for running this from the web, GUI or mobile. I have built a kit of theirs in the past and the online instructions, all downloadable, are very comprehensive and you learn a lot. I highly recommend this kit for anyone wanting to get into a robotics project using raspberry pi.

Parts came cracked and no batteries ?!!
I am an electrical Engineer. I only say this because I. Am over careful when dealing with projects and order of part install.I have no choice but to review. Parts have come. Cracked. I also don’t get the batteries for the tank !!Please help me fix this this. Love the products. Dislike this handling of the product Rasp Tank.Brocken prices and no batteries ?!? What ? Who QC”s this from the 3D printer? Very disappointed

In theory this kit is great; in practice, it is infuriating!
The hardware for this kit is nice, and would be a great deal if it actually worked. With proper documentation and software, it might be great. However, documentation is sorely lacking, and very incomplete and often incorrect. The "comprehensive" PDF is nowhere near. There are many "helpful" reminders to verify the routing of the wiring, while NEVER showing how the cables are intended to be run. The nice paper manuals in many of the videos DO NOT EXIST, and the PDFs do not have the information. There are not even actual photograph of a completed robot for reference, everything is a drawing or incomple CGI image, lacking important details. Software installation is even worse!

The claw will not open and close with the program
I like the assembly process and it makes a great gift. I am not sure why the claw will not grab, I can open the claw by hand and it will close. I used the program that came with it.

This toy has a purpose
I got this, first as an educational tool to learn about robotics; but I have a specific use for it once it’s built: I need to run a bunch of Cat-5 wiring in my crawl space; and I’d prefer not to crawl on my belly through the dirt to do it. I intend to use it to pull wiring to all corners of my house while I sit in the chair with a remote. The gripper will help grab wires as I drop them, and carry the where I need them to go. This is going to be a big help.I just have to build it first.

Disappointed that I have to give a low rate
Sadly I am going to give this a 1.5 to 2 stars.Personal think it's great but has a ton of small issues.Issues 1 the code does not work out of the box.I'm highly technical and it was annoying I had to edit the code.Issue 2 my panels broke way to easy. I didn't even have it running and I broke 4 pieces even the thick ones.Lucky I have 3D printers, but that's not the point. It's a little weird they designed the tank so compact, there is little room for the wires have fun!!!Some of parts labeled on the pdf were wrong and non matching. The big issue is, the code doesn't work...Secondly the plastic breaks to easy I had the tank tip over just to the left no drop or all and a wheel holder broke. My 2 cents 3D print something like it but a little bigger and more space. If everything worked 100% I would at least gave a 4/5Debating returning or fixing it.....

Updated Review Regarding Initial Pi Setup
I had initially rated this at 4 stars but dropping a star because there is little to no guidance on what to do if their instructions have issues being completed. BTW, I am using a Raspberry Pi 4b.I have had a lot of issues with their instructions either being incorrect, having excessive steps that aren’t needed, or don’t execute as indicated in their Raspberry Pi System Setup in “Basic Courses: Lesson 3”. They do not give any options for work around and only that you should contact Adeept if you have any issues. This is supposed to be a hobbyist project but it has turned into an advanced project to setup. Unless you or the person you are gifting it to has experience with RaspberryPi setup, advanced Linux use, and experience with Python coding language, try a different product, unless you want to dive into learning all 3. Then this is the product for you.Luckily I have experience with all 3 so I am able to create workarounds since almost many parts of the Lesson 3 Installing and Configuring Raspberry Pi System don’t work as printed. One additional recommendation. If you do purchase this, there are many very thin acrylic pieces that mount to 4 of the 5 servo motors. All of the pieces come covered in a protective, sticky paper for transport, which you need to remove during the actual build of the tank. Leave the paper on these very small pieces. They don’t show as they are covered with other pieces. This way, the paper on both sides provides extra stability for these pierces and they won’t break as easily. FYI.
