Great tool, works with Milwaukee M12 rotary tool
Fits my Milwaukee M12 rotary tool. Working great so far. The cable is a bit annoying due to it being a bit stiff and awkward, but it is to be expected. The smaller handpiece feels a lot nicer in the hand and makes engraving and more precise work easier.Didn’t read the manual, but the installation is self-explanatory. Simply remove the black plastic nut and the nut and collet that holds the tool bit and screw in the silver “Drive Adapter” nut that came in the bag with the paperwork. The Drive Adapter has a square hole which the internal cable of this handpiece cable slots into and the screw in the outer plastic nut which keeps this handpiece tool to the rotary tool. The little silver button on the handpiece locks the shaft into place so you can tighten your bits/collet. A second bag contains the nut/collet that you can install onto the handpiece. But I reinstall nut/collet/bit that came with my M12 rotary tool which fits perfectly.

Dremel flex or a generic?
Well, since I have never owned a flex tool it was hard to choose between the real deal and a generic. I still do not know how good generics are? I bought Dremel because I KNOW it will function as intended. If I were to have bought a cheaper one it may have worked identically, if it didn’t I would be in for another 1-15 bucks on top of having to buy a dremel flex as well ?Does it work better than holding the Dremel? ABSOLUTELY! For people that do not know, you HAVE TO HANG IT FROM SOMETHING suspended higher than your working level.( It’s a gravity thing- for it to function as intended. I would not attempt to simply lay it on a table and expect it to work properly. So be warned! The flex shaft is solid and functions well, but during intricate work it can get annoying and in the way. I use mine for my wood sculpture, and like the dremel itself it still can’t get into those little place with the sander (even with certain bits) –on top of the flex cable getting in the way. But anyone who knows their way around a Dremel know all of this already which is why I can’t give it a perfect 5 stars, but it has easily deserved the 4 star rating. If you buy a stylus you are in for the same problem when trying to get into those pesky tight areas I own one of those aw well. All I all it is a fantastic add-on for you rotary tool.

IT IS COMPATIBLE with the WEN rotary tools and is actually much better
This flex shaft DOES fit both WEN rotary tool models, i.e. the blue and the orange. The shaft wore out on my blue one because I just carve so many highly desirable, beautiful pieces of majestic art. No big deal. Anyway, I couldn't find a well reviewed replacement flex shaft that specifically stated it fit the WEN models so I took a chance on this well reviewed Dremel flex shaft and...it fits! I am so happy it does because this is a much nicer flex shaft than what you get with either of the WENs. This Dremel shaft is much more comfortable to hold, insulates much better against heat, cuts vibration until it is virtually negligible, and is startlingly quiet. Listen, I like WEN tools. Along with the aforementioned blue and orange rotary tools, I own around a half dozen of WEN's power tools. They are impressively adequate tools given their low price point. However, if I am being honest, the WEN shafts are total garbage in comparison to this Dremel flex shaft. I actually just ordered another one for my other WEN rotary tool even though its flex shaft is still in working order. The only CON: the Dremel flex shaft is significantly shorter than the WEN flex shaft but, just like I scream at myself in the mirror before bed every night, size isn't the only thing that matters. This is a well made, heavy duty shaft whose shortcomings in length are more than out distanced by the quality of its form and function. I guess Dremel might be worth the extra expense after all.
