The media could not be loaded. Some context, I was looking for a LED torch to satisfy three key aspects...1. Price,2. Utility in how flexible it can be used and handled3. Detecting the perennial pests themselves, bed bugs.So I took a gamble with this Blukar LED Torch. £7 for an LED Torch seemed too good to be true at first, especially with the features advertised. Powerful light? Rechargeable? Zoomable lens? No way, for 'that' price....And so I ordered it, and to my surprise, it was exactly as it said. The size is comparable to that of a Stanley box-cutter or about the size of an adult's palm (give or take). Packaging was simple and minimal and perfect for most recycling centres. A box, some bubble wrap, paper instructions and of course the Torch and a handy USB-C cable.Where do I start with this torch? Charging was extremely easy. Plug into your computer, games console or a dedicated charger and you're good to go. The power button acts an an indicator, red means charging and green means its full. Don't leave it longer than it needs to be etc. Once done, you're ready to go!Pressing the power button turns it on with the high beam being the default setting (in my experience). Further quick taps of the power button cycle through the various modes such as dimmed, strobe and SOS blinking pattern. Holding the button down turns it off and keeps the last mode in memory just in case you need to turn it back on suddenly. (Pictures of the instructions are linked with the review)I tested this via a video (which is linked with this review) and with the blackout curtains drawn, it was extremely bright. The phone camera did not do it justice at all...which leads me to its second feature, the zoomable lens. The LED torch has a simple, adjustable lens at the front that out the box has its widest beam. With a simple gentle pull, it extends forward which tightens or shrinks the beam. However, as its tightest and smallest extent, it shrinks to a 'square-like' shape with a circle aura around it. Best bet, in my opinion, is to go midway for that circular beam.In terms of bed bug / pest detection, the whole point of the purchase, it excelled. The long battery life and ease of use and recharge helped massively. While I didn't use the lens adjust feature often and instead just got close, the brightness helped a lot especially against dark areas and materials. I managed to find one against my foldable velvet box in the corner thanks to this alone.I cannot recommend this enough. I’ve been really impressed with these torches! They’re small, lightweight, and pack a powerful punch when it comes to lighting. The fact that they’re rechargeable is a huge bonus, and the battery life lasts forever—I’ve used them a lot and haven’t had to recharge them nearly as often as I expected.I mainly use one lighting mode, but it’s nice to have the options if I need them. They’re perfect for keeping in your bag when walking to the pub on a summer evening, but we mostly use them for letting the dog out in the garden at night. They’re great in low light, and the waterproof feature is really reassuring.Plus, getting two in the pack is a great deal! Highly recommend these torches—they’re super handy and perform really well.

Wow! I tried it before charging it to 100% and it was dazzling. I could guide ships into harbours on a foggy evening it is that powerfully bright. All 4 functions worked properly and I'm looking forward to using it after it has been fully charged up. Very happy with this and may get another one as a spare back up.

I’ve purchased a few pairs of these over time. Use them in the car, the van, emergency light dog walking etc.I like the sleek design and size as they are a good compromise between size and palm-abilityThey are Well built and the zoom feature is pretty good providing narrow or wide visibility - on narrow beam you can see the pixel shape of the leds but they mostly all do thisBattery lasts for ages and lighting power good and whiteSo why not 5 stars? One of the torches in the last set I received charges but didn’t work second was fineSo1 out of 8 faulty, but I couldn’t send back just one I had to send back the pair which possibly means a perfectly good one is heading to landfillIt wouldn’t put me off these so would still recommend

Purchased these as a Christmas present for my dad as he’s always wondering around in the middle of the night and constantly going too the loo so i wanted something that’s bright and easy to use and these work perfectly. Mom and dad have one each now so everyone’s happy

These are so good, I now have 5 of them! They are useful for camping and around the house for emergencies - I like the beam focus ability and that it is very tough and the battery lasts a long time between recharges.

The brightness of this torch is genuinely unbelievable given its price and size.Can easily illuminate a tree line at 100 metres at night time. Used last night on a night walk in a zoo and shone right across the rhino enclosure.Would highly recommend.

A great torch at a reasonable price. I use on night shifts at work while walking across large parts of outdoor site and it easily lights up to see where I'm walking. Easily charges and lasts many days between charging.
