Outstanding performance
This is the best pressurised tamper I’ve had. It really feels like a quality item. It has a nice weight to it and is comfortable to use. It performs so well and has definitely improved my espressos. It’s solid in your hand giving great confidence. The spring which it comes fitted with and which I haven’t changed has just enough pressure. The flange, that sits nicely on the rim of the basket, allows the ground coffee to be flattened/tampered evenly which is really good. I really wasn’t expecting it to be as good as it is or deliver such excellent results. No problems recommending it at all. So glad I decided to go for it.

Great tool for espresso making
This is built like a tank and helps me achieve a level tamp each time, effortlessly. Yes, it’s more expensive than an inexpensive conventional tamper, but it’s worth the price difference based on product quality and how well and easily it performs the task at hand. It comes with three springs, each associated with a different level of pressure, however, I found that all that is needed is the smallest / lightest and job’s done without any fuss. Easy to disassemble and easy to clean. I would recommend.

Easy to use, well built and repeatable.
Easy to use, well built and repeatable. Flat tamp every time, easily grabs the lip of the basket, snug fit on standard 58mm basket. Decent little stand for the tamper, 3 springs. Thing is heavy, built like a tank and does the job well.

Great Tamper!
Pros: tamps consistently; has a level plate to ensure you get straight levelled tamp, near zero edge tolerance, has a base when not in use & comes with other pressure springs.Cons: i found some grounds stick to the tamper; some grounds get stuck between tamper and the levelled plate and you may need a degree in DIY to figure the pressure of extra springs as they do not indicate which is which.Wish it had a click mechanism so you know when you reached the pressure required like other tampers do but those are normally twice the price so with my level of coffee experience (about 8 years) I am happy.Overall: do buy it! Go for it! It improves your consistency massively almost immediately. Good value. Do recommend you rinse well and wash the base plate before use as found a harsh metal/lubricant smell. I wrote this review about 3 months after first use.

Really lovely tamper and can tell it’s well built. It fits my portafilter well and Ives a nice level and consistent tamp.

Great quality item.
My mate told me to buy this one as it was a great product for the money, without going silly money which I know you can on these things. It's quality, works well, the spring is sturdy, has spares, well boxed and just overall pleased with this purchase.

Ensures that each & every brew is as consistent as the last
This tamper has helped me to make sure that each brew I prepare is just like the last. I was really bad at applying a level tamp so the lip that sits on the portafilter whilst tamping is much needed and appreciated. For that alone, it was worth every penny."Espresso Tamping Pressure | Does it Matter??" by Lifestyle Lab shows that forces greater than 20lbs will typically allow you to produce very similar shots. With that in mind, I experimented with the 15lbs and 25lbs springs that are provided with this tamper. I was much more comfortable and assured when using the 25lbs spring. In summary, both the lip and the ability to apply a consistent amount of pressure has helped me to make consistently fantastic brews. Solid work, Normcore.

Good feeling tamp
A big improvement on most tamps that get included with your coffee machine, provides a consistent result every time.

If you are not a barista, you need this tool
So I recently made the decision to get into the hobby of home espresso and because I am a professional cook and apparently love to struggle. I decided on getting into the flair espresso ecosystem. What I love about flair is that it is extremely manual in nature. What that gives me is the ability to learn a new skill in the kitchen which I love but ultimately being so manual it gives me the most control over the end product which as a professional I find essential. Anyways, this isn't a flair review but all of this will help you understand why I feel the way I do about this tamper. So I have had the flair for a little over a month now, it's my first espresso machine ever and I have pulled roughly an entire bags worth of shots with it. In the month I have owned this, I feel like I have developed a consistent and efficient work flow, I feel like my form and understanding are to a point where I should be able to pull good shots but in reality, my shots couldn't be more inconsistent. It became very clear to me after a couple dozen shots that the only thing I'm inconsistent at is the tamp. The flair pro 2 comes with a decent tamper. It's not terrible. But it's not great either. It's kinda small and I think if you aren't already a pro at making espresso, you are going to struggle with it and I definitely do struggle with it. It didn't seem to matter what my grind setting would be, coarse or super fine, some of my shots would go through with little to no resistance and some I couldn't even get to pull at all. I found myself randomly trying different things, super hard tamps, super light tamps, wild swings on my grinder and it all felt just super random and I was just flailing in the dark. As a pro this was unacceptable for me. So I decided to address my tamping issue and get the normcore distributor and this spring tamper. The two things I struggle most with the flair tamper is getting level bed and getting a consistent tamp pressure. The distributor works great and I have written a review of that too. This tamper has solved the problem I have. Like 100% solved it and it did it instantly. I received the tamper about an hour ago and immediately pulled a shot with it. What I got was an 18g shot pulled in 25 seconds with zero channeling. I then made a small adjustment to my grinder and pulled a second shot. That 18g shot pulled in 34 seconds, no channeling and was basically perfect. I now feel like I have complete control over the flair and I couldn't be more excited. I'm already shopping for some specialty light roasts and other expensive beans as I am no longer worried about wasting a ton of beans trying to dial in shots. If you are a novice to espresso, a spring tamper is essential and normcore seems to make the most premium versions of these tools. If your story is similar to mine and you can't see consistent results, buy this now. It will instantly fix your issue.

Great Tool. Good Purchase
recently purchased a Breville Bambino and i must say that the included tamper while it did work was severely lacking. The included tamper on the larger and more expensive Express and others is definitely better but this Normcore is a quality piece that puts them to shame. I wanted this model and i did waffle over some cheaper knockoffs but in the end I spent more and bought this V4. So glad i did. I just didn’t trust the build quality of cheaper tools and I’ve been disappointed before and said nope gonna get the tool I wanted. So glad i did. The tool itself works perfectly right out if box. The included tamper had quite a bit of room around the outside leaving crumbly bits around the edges. The V4 fit my 54 IMS basket perfectly and gave a easy clean tamp. You can see in my photos how much cleaner the V4 is and very little residual espresso grounds left. Didn’t want to spend the $$ but this was a worthwhile tool that should last a long time. If you have a substandard tamper this is a good solid choice.

Très bon tamper
Le ressort permet d’avoir toujours la même pression sur la galette et donc un résultat repétable facilement. Le support permet de garder le tamper au propre et de gagner du temps car toujours dans la bonne position
