Add a simple (cheap) DIMMER setting to the back--Too bright
Excellent product. There's only one improvement that's necessary:Add one simple thing: a DIMMER setting--too bright. Concept behind concept behind the TV is good of course everyone knows Fake TV is good of course everyone knows (trust me I own three, so I'm a fan but my feedback is that much more valuable. HOWEVER, here's the problem: since the obvious purpose of the product is a theft deterrent, and since thieves commonly stick out a house for a few days first, they will easily be able to recognize the difference between a much lower brightness of your regular TV and me five times higher brightness of your fake TV. this is the problem but it is a cheap fix for you just add a dimmer in the back so that the user can adjust to match the brightness of their own real TV so that it's less suspicious . Then you have the perfect product then you'll have the perfect product and theft deterrent . actually I have one additional awesome suggestion to add more value to your company: everything probably by design has a high action movie type of display (Always flickering a little bit too fast) always flickering a little bit too fast . My suggestion then is to randomize between different types of flicker speed "THEMES" every (Again randomize) 20-40 minutes since this will more realistically reflect real TV as people often switch between NEWS and documentaries (lower flicker rates) and action (your current is high action movies only). Another reason this is important is that because of the extreme I brightness in the extreme high action, we noticed that even with the doors closed etc. that this can contribute to the poor sleep and nightmares versus keeping it off at night which is precisely when we need to keep it on so the suggestions also solves problems as well as more closely approximate but more closely approximate a real TV viewing real TV viewing. In summary 2 things: 1. A brightness/dimmer setting; 2. RANDOMIZED "Theme" variations, where "themes" represent low speed flicker viewing (like dramas/news) vs higher speed (sports and action movies) at random for changing intervals that our minimum of, say, 20 minutes. This will make your product twice as good, and twice as realistic, with the least amount of investment.

I love it.
Fantastic addition to a home security system. I’ve had mines for about a year. No problems at all. From the street, it really does look like a real television playing. I have mines setup in a guest room, and I placed it on a dresser (in the same spot and position I would put a real tv). I don’t have it directly facing the window. But, this thing is so bright, and realistic, you don’t need to. I had it on a timer , but decided to get fancy. About a month ago, I plugged my fake tv into a smart plug. So, now, I can turn it on, no matter where I am. I can also set a regular timer on my smart plug, or set a countdown timer on the plug. This allows me to turn the fake tv on where ever I’m at, and set it for a countdown timer to go off for however long I want it on......or, I can set a countdown timer to have it come on also. I also turn it on and off when we’re home too. Using this in addition to my smart bulb in our guest room, it gives our always empty guest room a lived in appearance (at least from the outside). Anyway, my point is, there are so many things you can do with this thing. Unfortunately this is the world we live in. But, for the price of this thing, and the peace of mind, it’s a fantastic addition to any home security system.

Works really well.
ProsThis little unit is a little bigger than a GoPro. I plugged it in and went outsize, and I'll be darned, it works perfectly. Pleasant surprise.Consfeels cheaply made. Not sure how long it will last. My power cord fall out easily and doesn't seem to "click" in place on the unit. If I move it, the cord falls out. They would benefit from providing a better power adaptor plug.

Great burglary deterrent
I've used this for years when I'm away from the house: it gives a very convincing "someone at home" look. Now we've purchased another for our vacation home. Great device by itself. Combine it with a smart plug to vary the times it comes on and goes off even more.

Performs well - Bezel not as discreet as I'd like
Performs well. The brightness, as seen when outside my home, is very close to that of my 65" OLED screen facing a tall off-white wall 18 feet away. Pricey but a better alternative to just static lamps. Wish the bezel color and logo were more muted though.

FakeTV, Real Results!
After a rash of vehicle break-ins in our community, I've been hunting for low-cost, common sense security measures to keep our cars safer at night. In my search, I happened across this FakeTV from Hydreon and snapped one up straight away. The light ships in a small box, complete with multi-lingual instructions (English pictured) and a five foot power cord.Setup is a breeze; you simply connect the light to the two pronged power cable, plug it in, and select your setting (Always On; Dusk + 7 Hrs; Dusk + 4; Off). I keep ours on the +7 setting in a room upstairs facing the street. Note that it doesn't have to be too dark in the room for the light sensor to respond, so be warned that the FakeTV may click on a bit earlier in the evening than you might think (meaning that it may shut off earlier than you might think as well).Looking up at our windows where the product is placed, you'd never know that the light being emitted from the room was from anything but a big, vivid television screen. The 12 LEDs are super bright, and the flickering patterns they produce are extremely authentic. Power consumption for this item is advertised as being really low, and it doesn't get hot over time—which is paramount as you'll most likely use the FakeTV when you're either asleep in another room or away from home altogether! All told, I'm really pleased with this purchase, and while there's no guarantee that this will keep our cars completely safe... I'd like to believe that it's an easy, affordable discouragement to all but the boldest of criminals.Feel free to leave me a comment or question, I’m happy to add anything else you’d like to know about the product. Thanks for taking the time to read my review, hopefully this information was useful!
