I work at a rehabilitation clinic with injured workers. Our patients have some physical limitations while in the program. This set turned out to be excellent - sturdy box, wooden pieces, magnetic holding while in use is very convenient! Great storage for the therapist - box locks up minimizing potential to lose pieces or box getting bent in the storage with other games we use for exercises in therapy.And after a therapy session pieces are very easy to put back into the board/box with the foam and specific cutout for each piece.And for wooden pieces and the quality price is also great for 2 in 1.Chess/checkers are great games for post-brain injury therapy and rehab. And for physical therapy for patients with challenges in small motor capacities.

Such a beautiful chess set. I love that it’s magnetic, and that all the pieces have a slot where they belong for organization.(I always read hundreds of reviews before buying anything that I will be using very often. This chess was one of those things. This set is the perfect mix between value and aesthetic. It’s simple but elegant and good quality. Get it, you won’t regret it.)

Really nice chess set. Wanted a decent one to teach my wife chess and this one’s perfect. The weighted, magnetic pieces don’t get knocked over accidentally. Great for families and beginners.

I wanted a decent sized board, that travels, didn't look too cheap, and at least had chess and checkers. It ticks these boxes, but .....The magnetic pieces don't hold "especially well" to the board. This board gets near a 45 degree slant and you're picking them up. Suddenly bump it and the pieces won't fare much better. That's if you are playing chess. Checkers.....you're SOL. It's really odd the checkers aren't magnetized, especially since it isn't like it would be especially difficult to do.I also wouldn't expect this board to survive a great deal of mishandling. While it is made well for "cheap", there are lots of little things that hint to "long term" problems", but at $30 I'm not expecting an "heirloom" either.I would like to say that the foam insert designed to hold the pieces does really well. I was happy with that design and was happy to see it held on even "in transit".If you can afford it, get a better board, but if you're looking to get by on the cheap; this does it pretty well for the price.

We love this set at my house! Great board that doubles as a case, durable quality and just the right size. Our grandson loves it!

We absolutely love this set. The magnetic pieces are amazing. And we never have a messed up game due to a bump or movement. Great price and great find.

Checkers are not magnetic so I will be returning. I bought this for my 7 year old because he wants to learn. I also have young kids around. So the magnetic portion would help immensely with things not getting shuffled around while learning. Checkers weren’t magnetic and so I’m returning. Size was ok. Good for a child.
