This intercom is one-single way communication system, it need to press and hold the TALK button while speaking, after finish speaking and release the button and then the others can reply to you. Absolutely YES. Others on the same channel can hear your conversation. Setting up a channel code will *not* prevent others from hearing you. A channel code is intended to reduce interference from other stations.

Q: Des the antenna rotate? I would like to put it on a wall but do not want the antenna to stick out into the area in front of the unit.
